I'm assuming that everyone who has an ork biker nob squad doesn't immediately run out and buy up the FW models... cool as they are.

So how do you go about making your ork biker nobs? I've been contemplating a squad for a while now and with the changes in 6th the time seems right... but I'm not going to pay $75 for 3 bikes + shipping. (nearly $90 total)

So, I'm interested in what other folks have done... especially in converting the more sanely priced normal ork warbikes into nob bikes. I'm not really a scratch-builder... but I can convert decently enough.

Thanks!

I used the standard ork bikers with nob shoulderpads and some other minor beefing up.

Let me see if I can get some pics up here.

Here we go:

Built them last Christmas, might get round to painting them now.

I second the deffkopta idea!

Also, since I'm a passionate showoff, I had to share my wip biker warboss, which is also based on a deffkopta:

Pic up some nob bits on eBay, less than 10 bucks and you can convert/ kit ash some nobs for not much effort. Just look for a shipper with multiple parts and combine shipping to save money. Or ask in the dakka swap shop for a trade or PayPal sale of some ork spare bits.

Those all look awesome guys. The deff kopta idea is a really good one too.

Great idea drglnc... and I JUST did that in-between my oringinal posting and now. I didn't add anything like nob arms and torsos though... should I? Not sure if they'll fit on the bikes.

Just take normal bikes and add Nob heads and arms. PKs and banners.
For the bikes themselves, make it look "punk". Chopper style bikes, little wing mirrors, guns on a side car rather than the handlebars. Add sunglasses or goggoles from the Deffcoptas. Just general pimp them out.

The old bikes work well too, give a rugged kinda look. I got a bunch of ebay a few years back and modded them up with black reach nobs and some bits . Then bikers went rubbish with the missiles and jaw so they never got paint, needless to say I've dusted them off and busy getting them painted. old piccy here

For anything except a Biker Boss, I think the normal bikes (with nob torsoes/heads added) look fine. You may need to bulk out the legs and arms a little with some armour or ammo pouches etc, but even that's probably only needed if you also have normal bikers in your army.

Also consider a few looted marine/CSM bikes, although getting the arms to grip the handlebars may be an issue. (Ditto for using the old plastic ork bikes.)

There are numerous Deffkopta bike conversions, varying wildly in cost (in extra bits needed), difficulty and coolness.

Well, my only other warbike mob is made up of RT/1st Ed ork bikers... which is tiny enough I call them my "Grot Bike Mob" (they look like grots on minibikes)... so I guess I don't have to beef of normal bikers too much to make them look like nobs when compared to the rest.

Any suggestions for a good weapons configuration for a 7-9 bike mob given the new rule set?

I did what the other guys did, warbikers with added Nob bits, beefed them up, gave them PK's. I got 6 done now and have 3 more yet to paint.
