Hey Dakka,

I've recently sold one of my many armies and have decided to take part of those funds and dump them into a new airbrush kit. After a TON of research I think I'm going to stick with an Iwata Deluxe starters kit (w/ CS brush). A buddy of mine ended up getting his from a local art supply store during a ridiculous 40% off sale. Thus what is normally around $400 dollars ended up being in the mid 200's. Unfortunately I cant find any deals that even approach this level and was hoping that you dakka could direct me better than Google has.

FYI this is the specific set:

I can't imagine you're going to find the specific airbrush you want on some amazing deal somewhere. Maybe if you are lucky though!

Just shop around, see whats on offer for your price range and pick the most suitable, or save more moneys!

Iwata are supposed to be beutiful airbrushes sure, (never tryed one of them myself) but they are not the only reputable brand. You're in USA so Badger might be priced well for you (being made somewhat close by). Personally I have a Harder and Steenbeck (german made) and I love it.

'Ain't nothing crazy about me but my brain. Right brain? Riight! No not you right brain! Right left brain? Right!... Okay then lets do this!!

If you have a Michaels around your area, you can get them there. They accept coupons from Hobby Lobby, which does 40% off coupons that you print off the Hobby Lobby website.

The best deal has been "Michaels art supply" as they have a 50% off coupon currently. Sadly they don't carry top quality airbrushes. Likewise Hobby Lobby has great deals (40% off) but only the most basic of brushes/compressors.

Any other ideas?

Hobby Lobby carries the same Airbrush he linked to (Iwata HP-CS). You can actually order it online and use the online 40% off to get the price down to $120 on it.

You will still need to get a compressor - but you can get a good one for $100 from any number of places.

Here are a few I have ordered from before. http://www.bearair.com/, http://www.coastairbrush.com/, http://www.dixieart.com/Dixie_Art_Supplies_Airbrush_Main_Page.html. The iwata is a good airbrush, can save a bit of money with a Badger Patriot.
