|
 |
Nihilistic Necron Lord
|
As the hosts of Everblight’s legion advance, they are preceded on the ground by the fearsome naga. These draconic horrors first spew caustic venom upon their victims before closing to tear the wounded apart with fanged maws. Though seemingly simple in form, the naga are in truth complex spawn representing Everblight’s genius in the manipulation of blighted flesh.

Hey look, it's a Dread Maw from Monstrous Arcanum.
I'd buy it for that purpose if the rules for it weren't so terrible. 175 points for Ws2? no thanks, I'm good.
Anyway, it looks decent.

HAH! my bad, it's even worse than that.
Dread Maw, Monstrous Arcanum pg 46:
M* Ws 2 Bs 0 S5 T5 W5 I1 Ad3 Ld 7 280 points, moves as a flyer without swiftstride 2d6"
It's really quite a terrible unit. But it looks cool.
Note: these rules are for WFB and NOT the game system the model in this thread is meant for, it just looks like the model intended for WFB.

...which looks a bit like a skorne version of the cankerworm. One was cool. Two was okay. Three is getting repetitive. Nice enough sculpt, though.

PP is running out of concepts fast. I mean, what does this make, the FOURTH giant worm model in their range? Cryx, Skorne, Minion, and now Legion, with the last two looking pretty much identical.
I don't know, guys, this does not impress me.

Oh, I forgot about the elf snake. Yep. 4.
But they have so many more creative ideas
A Minion (amphibious) snake-- without bone plates! That might be the first snake/worm ever, without a partial exoskeleton...?
A Circle worm/snake- now with more fur (or rocks)! Represents the devourer.
Snaketroll. It's a troll that eats snakes, QED. There isn't a poison troll yet, right?
A protectorate snake, representing the same devourer... as the saying goes, fight fire with firesnakejack. If a character jack, named The Snakejack of Fire.
A Cygnar lightning snake-jack. It's a trencher, see, which explains the burrowing.
A merc snake jack. Possibly the prototype for the Cygnar snake-jack, in which case, fewer special rules and cheaper. Alternatively, sea-serpent-jack, with flotation runes to justify it not just sinking.
A Khador snake jack. Everyone else was doing it. Khador's is the biggest. Possibly with exploding melee weapons. It also has an arc node, to finally stop them asking.

When I saw the title, I thought it was going to be this sort of naga, not a tail with teeth.

I'm kind of meh on this one. I know there's only so many ways you could make a dragon snake, but it's too generic, and too Cankerworm. It really Really looks like Everblight saw Cankerworm and thought "Hey that's kinda cool! I want one of those!". Same pose, same armor plating, same little legs, same raised tail tip claw/spike idea.
All the Legion players will own one though because the Animus is stupidly amazing. You'll probably see one in Every Lylith list.

General mythology, and many fantasy settings, yes.
When Everblight has been playing in the Iron Kingdoms? Apparently not.

I prefer this kind:
But seriously, cool model. Looks a bit like something the Zerg from Starcraft would field, but a pretty good 'rearing snake' pose.

While I tend to ridicule PP for their increasing stupidity, this one is actually fine. Many of their beast classifications are based on mythology:
Angel(ius) (big dragon thingy)
Nephilim (humanoid/hybrid)
Seraphim (medium dragon thingy)
Teraphim (land dragon thingy)
etc.
