Should it be a warp based race? xeno? or a new human faction?

What do you mean by a warp type? Daemons? I think Daemons are already pretty well covered.

Like another race based on the warp, like the Enslavers.

Well since this is basically Fantasy in space, we need the skaven represented! So Hrud baby Hrud!

-Any terrain containing Sly Marbo is dangerous terrain.
-Sly Marbo once played an objective mission just to see what it was like to not meet every victory condition on his own.
-Sly Marbo bought a third edition rulebook just to play meat grinder as the attacker.
-Marbo doesn't need an Eldar farseer as an ally; his enemies are already doomed
-Sly Marbo was originally armed with a power weapon, but he dropped it while assaulting a space marine command squad just so his enemies could feel pain
-Sly Marbo still attacks the front armor value in assault, for pity's sake.

Xenos. Space Skaven would be awesome.

I totally agree with this. Plus you can have a chaos version of this too. Running a mob of servitors, tech preists, and Skittari(sp) warriors! I would love to see that come about, I would run them with my warhound Titan!

I'm going with Xenos. Already too many Human Factions as it is and The warp is mainly a daemon thing.

I know the AdMech has lots of fans, but considering its background it does not make a lot of sense for them to pop up in the "low" pts battles that core 40k is about - all of these would be rare exceptions when a lone Explorator unit without backup is attacked or when somebody lays siege to a forge world. Without changes to the studio fluff, that's a pretty narrow mission window. The Mechanicus' most commonly shows up as reinforcements in the form of the Titan Legions, and these are not enough to make for a new Codex and would probably remain limited to Apocalypse anyways.

Like the Deathwatch or the Inquisitors, I think the AdMech would be best served with a WD Minidex containing half a dozen new units as a new option to be added to other Imperial forces, circumventing the allies rules for these cases.

Given the current release schedule, I don't think any new Codex army would be good (imho it'd be better to remove a couple "variant" codices, actually). But if it were to happen, I'm voting xenos. I think GW should try to play up one of the other factions as a counterpart to the IoM's versatility. The Tau Empire, whilst nowhere near as large, has excellent potential for this, as it combines so many different species under its banner. A "Codex Demiurg" for example (and just one example) might work well as a "standalone Adeptus" of the Tau Empire, like the Codex Grey Knights works for the IoM.

While Hrud would be interesting, I feel like there is much more potential with an Adeptus Mechanicus army, so I went with human type.

Xenos for preference. Might balance out the SM overdose a bit..

Failing that a non IOM human faction might be interesting.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

I say xeno. Humans are way too much represented already (and I play both marines and IG plus Dark eldar for something different).

I shall rule the world someday utilizing my cuteness. And I already have one minion to help me do it!

To be honest, it's not so much that humans are over-represented as that Space Marines are. I'd be quite interested in an Adeptus Mechanicus army.

If I had to pick xenos, I suppose the Hrud or Slann would be interesting. (Though it wouldn't strictly be a 'new' faction, I'd be far more interested in a proper Genestealer cult list, of course.)

This plus every codex that didn't get a 5th ed release. All books should be updated before we get new codexes.

Xeno the return of Hurd, Slann, or squats would be nice (even though Squats are now human type) I would even be happy with a new race all together we have no WH40K equivalent to Wood Elves (ive heard Tau fit this role because of the suits), Orges, or Vampire Counts. (crons are TK)

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

I meant as a whole Wood Elves are a strike and run army I can see it in the Kroot and eldar

We have no equ. of the Vampire Counts in the idea that I don't have an army that can just spawn more troops with Phsyker powers or require special attacks to hurt them

Ogryns as Ogres if they were a stand alone army I'd say yes but truth is they are not I would love to have an army large creatures that bash bash and bash and don't say nids on the idea that nids can not run with just large infantry.

First choice for me would be AM.

But, for the game, it would be better to get another XENOS race in.

I really think a race the size of the tau (regional, but not hugely story significant) would work best. Maybe someone in the Galactic North?

I think a low toughness, but heavily armoured force might be cool (not like the tau, who as a whole are lightly armoured). Or a high toughness, weak armor force (space Ogres?) Maybe someone that specializes in fortifications? That would honor the new "rage" of 6e and give them a unique feel.

A Warp race would be cool to (a la Beastmen), but I would want them to be horribly anti-Human.

Let them ally/be used by DE and Orks as strong allies?

I think we'll see a Warprace from GW (they're really ramping up the Great Enemy/ Long War stuff in 6e). And then an AM force from FW during 6e.

That's why more xenos would be nice. I do think that Grey Knights are different enough to have their own dex but the rest of them marines... one book would be fine. Yeah it might be a bit bigger one but still.

I'd rather see a new Book of allies, one or two entries (an HQ and Troop choice?) Of a few different races. You could even do, say, 4 races, and each one has HQ, Troop, and one extra entry of each type. So a Fast race with some Fleet Troops, Jetbike/Jetpack FA, and some kind of HQ, and the same for every other slot.
