just a general question, im a beginner Blood Angel player and i'm curious about the glave encarmines
it says they are two handed Master Crafted power weapons, so are they also relic blades, or no? they seem as if they should do the same thing
but im just not sure, any help on this topic would be appreciated, thnx!

They are simply master crafted power weapons, not relic blades. The two handed note is because you don't get a bonus attack for having a pistol or CCW.

the REAL question, at least to me, is if a sanguinary guard with an ax is counted as having a power ax, and if a sanguinary guard with a sword is counted as having a power sword.

you pull up a good point there. hmmmm, i guess it would all depend on whether your oponent cared if you ment them to be just power swords or have the mixed power sword/axe combo in the squad.

There is a huge discussion on it going on in the BA power weapons thread... I think we need an INAT ruling on it until then, I think I'm just gonna play em as straight AP3 power swords, instead of the power axes.

I don't see the Glaives as unusual, so I would go with "they are whatever you model them to be".

I guess it would be up to whoever your battling, you could let them know you mean them to be just power swords. I personally would just stick to power swords though.

Wikipedia states Glaives are AXElike blades on poles and the blades are NOT SWORDLIKE.

Rather than debate whether or not those that look like axes should be axes, use their name and axe them.

Codex Blood Angels page 23 lists the glaive encarmine as an unusual weapon so unless its specifically FAQd the ax is just like a power sword
