Just wondering, do you guys just get a big list of people when alot of us report something, or do you just see that it has twenty reports?

It a post is only reported by one person, we see who it is. If it's reported by multiple people, the system just gives us a total number of reports.

There are instances where reports are clearly motivated by past bad feeling between particular members. This info can be useful in judging what to do about a report.

Also, when it is just a count of people reporting the thread, the data is obviously still present for me to fish out who did the reporting, it is just not presented to all mods to save on space in the mod control panel.

That's why I have a special headwear I don when I report a thread; the thin foil lining of which - a common enough element, yet which possesses remarkable properties - quite insulates my motivations from their omniscient probings.

Do you guys ever look at a report and say 'Ahh, there he goes again... Sigh'?

I feel like I may be over-zealous with my reporting sometimes.

I find it very useful to see who reports things because I know who among the frequent reporters is reliable. So, since pretre brought himself up as an example, when I see he has reported that a thread is a duplicate, I know I don't have to spend a lot of time verifying that. He even usually includes a link to the earlier thread. So I know I can count on that and it makes things move along more quickly.

I usually keep it simple, like "Spam!"

Then again, I have mod powers over at the dp9forum, and I get annoyed when there's a report active when I haven't had breakfast yet, so I tend to prefer simple descriptions so I know if its "Pr0n posted to very sub forum" or "thread needs typo in title fixed." Big difference in priority for me.
