On a Canoptek Spyder's Waiting List

I've been building and testing some variations on maximum threat overload necrons and I just can find a list that I think is well rounded enough.

Currently these are the things in my list that haven't changed:

Overlord; MSS, Weave, Shifter, Warscythe -175
CCB - 80

Lancetek x2 - 70

D. Lord; MSS, Weave - 160

Doom Scythe x2 - 350

2 squads of 6 wraiths; 3 whip coils and a P. Blaster in each - 245 for each squad

Other than that I've gone through differently combos of smaller groups of warriors (never more than 10 men) and minimum Immortal squads. I used to have a mini scarab farm in my list with 8 scarabs and 3 spyders, but I kind of don't see scarabs as a big of a threat as the used to be.

I'm trying to have a list put together for NOVA quickly so I can make sure they are all painted and everything but I am fairly quickly running out of time in that regard, haha.
So I guess some of the things I'm wondering are:
1. Are MSU of warriors or immortals viable?
2. Are scarabs still worth it?
3. Should I add some more fast, threatening units like another wraith squad or a 3rd doomscythe?
4. Are allies something to consider? I thought about a small contingent of space wolves with a rune priest just for his awesome anti psyker-ness, but I'm not sure if it is worth it.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I'm still trying to get my head around what works in 6th, have only played one game so far. However, for an MTO, given the rules for flyers, what about immortals in night scythes? Team them up with Stormteks, use a combination of Tesla and Gauss.

Just from the game I played, I think that having more scoring units is going to be a must in 6th and I'm thinking more immortals over warriors.

my2c for what its worth.

This is probably how I would update my MTO crons for 6E. I will keep your Dlord in this list as per your request.

Overlord; MSS, Weave, Shifter, Warscythe -175
CCB - 80

Lancetek x1 - Solar Pulse - 55

D. Lord; MSS, Weave - 160

2 squads of 6 wraiths; 3 whip coils - 240 x2 (don't need the P. Caster anymore as wound alloc. has changed in 6E)

Doom Scythe x2 - 350

8x Scarabs - 120

2x Spyders - Gloom Prism - 115

2 squads of 5x Warriors in Night Scythes - 165 x2

2x5 Warriors - 65 x2

1995

Flyers are the real thing. The more flyers, the better. Just the 2 night scythes have greatly improved this list, as they provide a fast transport, fire power and also anti-flyer shooting.

Mini-scarab farms (2 spyder + scarabs) are still useful. You're playing against the meta and currently, most armies are still mech. So scarabs are still good. And if you play against foot armies, scarabs are now excellent tarpit units due to there being no more No Retreat saves.

Immortals are good, but in a MTO list, you really don't the points left over for them. I think scarabs, wraiths, the lords and scythes take precendence over immortals. Troops should just stay in their transport for as long as possible.

Don't add any more offensive units like wraiths. Then you won't have the ability to deal with enemy flyers. Because 6E is primarily objectives-based, you need a minimum of 4 troop choices. Any fast offensive threats you add should be night scythes for offense, protection for your fragile troops and also anti-flyer shooting.

Don't need to consider allies. Necrons is probably the only codex right now that is balanced enough to not need any allies. Taking them will weaken the list.

Hope that helps.
