Cozy cockpit of an Archer ARC-5S

Hi

We have just added a new model to our large range of 1/55th scale (for 28-30mm miniatures) vehicles to give a bit of weight to your Pulp period armies:

http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/range.php?range=VEH

K64 Mark IX Beast - a super-heavy Interwar-style tank. This resin kit is a massive 187mm long, 73mm wide and 58mm high. The figure in the picture (sold separately) shows what a monster the Mark IX Beast is.

K65 Mark IX Beast Accessory Set - all the bits you need to add more character to your straight-from-the-factory tank: 2 alternative sponson gun barrels, 5 pieces of baggage, 2 cable drums, 2 petrol cans, 6 ammo boxes, 1 long unditching beam and a short unditching beam with 2 support brackets.

Too narrow *for me to use in 40k*

I have been corrected and it seems to be of proper dimensions for what it is.

I understand the length, it is the width that seems off. I know the originals were a bit narrow but this seems extremely narrow.

That can't be a real tank, the gun barrels are too thin. I thought all barrels had to be wide enough to at least fit a whole ratling inside?

This is a supply variant of the MK 9, but as you can see...

Quite narrow.

You are either barely familiar with real WW1 tanks or joking sir, and i am hoping that this is a joke.
Not a rip off at all. Its a nice model but i agree that its a little too narrow and long to be used in 40k

Man, their tanks are exactly what I was looking for to replace all of my Leman Russ' (Leman Russes? Leman Russii?) Their K51 and Hornet "male" version are, with this one, exactly what I was looking for. Rivets gallore!

Yeah, the real reason the RTR mothballed all their tanks is because GW successfully sued the Ministry of Defence for 95 years of backdated copyright infringement, the bastards.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

I saw the title and wondering if someone was doing alternate kits for Warmachine now, as one of the better jacks in the game is named Beast 09.

Another cheap Leman Russ knock-off.

When are these companies going to be original instead of stealing GW's IP?

Looks like they're going for the more authentic WW2 vibe, and so long as people decry GW's stuff as unrealistic and desire a product that fits their idea for what the tanks should look like then there will be a market to fill it.

Brook, I think everyone knows that, and they're being sarcastic / humorous re the GW IP references...

Sarcasm is so hard to convey in text...

EDIT...Oops, sorry, didn't realise until I re-read that you were commenting on it being referred to as a "WW2" tank...

Yes, yes, I know that these threads bring with them the usual inane spam that has been done before a million times. Now if only I could turn it into a scheme that got me some money, I'd be rich.

To be exact, it's not. There never was a turreted version of the Mark IX. The closest this thing has to a real world equivalent is the prop they used for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Yep, although based on real tank.
Its made with Pulp gaming in mind. Pulp is generaly set inbetween the two wold wars, its very Indiana Jones/Mummy Modern(ish) fantasy.

I need to find a reson to own that tank though it is just awsome. Mark Copplestone makes some of the best minis around I just cant stop buying them

There never was a version with a turret in reality, they only made a few anyway. This is based on the one in Indiana Jones which makes it all the cooler IMO, must be uses for that in games. I don't think it is too narrow, the length is just deceptive.

Anyway I've attached a picture below I took of the real thing...

It's the tank from Indy Jones and the Last Crusade. A fictional tank based on WWI, interwar tanks.

And it is very very cool. Good to see Copplestone putting new stuff out.
