Subject: Injustice: Gods Among Us. Playtime for Kitty.
Ed Boon and co. at Netherrealm were pretty much bought out by Warner brothers to make a DC Fighter, called Injustice: Gods Among Us.
It's a DC fighting game that includes Solomun Grundy, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and Flash so far.
Didn't know Batman can punch people through buildings....
It's not so bad looking in action, though....
A few details I've been able to scrounge up:
1) Three button fighter, with the fourth button being specific per character: Wonder Woman and Nightwing swap stances, Solomon Grundy pulls something out of himself and hits people with it, Batman gets a sheild of bats that he can use General RAAM-Kryll style.
2) Hold back to Block.
3) This will mean more to some over others, but writing is being handled by Jimmy Palmiotte.
4) Batman has his Kryptonite Ring.
5) Characters will speak to eachother like in Blazblu; Batman will talk smack to Superman, will show remorse at fighting Catwoman, and will be a sort of sensai "You have much yet to learn" to Nightwing.
6) They are going for a MK9 release; same amount of characters, more modes, and a "better" story.

I believe there was a hint dropped that Aquaman and Deathstroke are also getting in (someone showed comic covers of Cyborg, Nightwing, Aquaman, and Deathstroke a few weeks before comic con)
I hope if they're putting an Ice person in that they'll use Captain Cold. We could use a Flash Villain

Also, NetherRealms is just the new name for Midway since it was purchased by Warner Bros. Interactive in 2009. That's right, the DC v. MK game even precedes NetherRealms's existence.
Please do a little research before mouthing off.

One of my Xbox mags had some info on this. One of the devs suggested they where going to get in as many characters as possible. A cast equal to the 2011 game (so thats 27) and he also said he'd like to see every ones fave characters on there, if not on the disc via dlc.
As to myself, I'll be getting it for certain.

No, you do YOUR Research. Are you aware that into Any MK fansite, and you would see that about 70% of the MK fan has been dreading this ever since MK v DCU was made and the MK team was boughten by WB, because we were afraid this sort of thing would happen. That's right, our suspicion of this even precedes this announcement.
Also, Ed Boon has stated that they were going to work on something other than Mortal Kombat. They also said that MK would get more DLC characters if the first wave sold well; those "Second Wave" characters never appeared, despite phenominal sales and the leak that Jason was supposed to be in the game by Halloween. Doesn't take much to see that WB pulled their funding for this game instead.....
Never seen a Mod go on the offensive so quickly though, so you get points for that.
@Manchu: Now that I am a little Calmer, let me just say that while yes, alot of MK fans do hate WB for the debaucle that was MK9 (Several layers to that game, yes everyone loved what they did with it, but there were so many broken promises with it's release Peter M. from Lionshead would have been proud.), but the title was supposed to be Provocotive to get veiws

Captain Cold is way cooler than Mr Freeze though!
Mr freeze: Ice Gun
Captain Cold: Gun that reduces the temperature of anything it hits to absolute zero so that molecules cannot move (which is how he beats Flash)

Ice beats them both. So does Killer Frost.
Plus with Ice, you can bring in Fire and Guy for the most awkward love triangle EVER.

Fifteen minutes of Superman vs Flash, Solomon vs Batman.
So far Batman looks to be my character, will try to find a vid with Wonder woman and Harley, though I do know that Harley's Special involves exploding cake.
Here's Harley:
And Wonder Woman (Sorry about the quality):

See thats all kinds of awesome right there. As Joker is bound to make an appearance I'd love to see some of the comments he has to Bats, hell imagine if Batgirl and Red Hood are in it.
Regarding that thought any characters folks would love to see make the cut. Going on the Dev's own info, it seems we'll be looking at 27ish for the game.

Oooh, Metacritic, where anyone can go in and write twenty reviews to trash a game or make it look awesome. Tell me, how many nerds have a wet dream about fighting with Superman? Batman? How long did the game actually stay relevent, what with three characters having infinites that only required ONE button to do, and two having infinites that required three. How about the totally awesome Harley Quinn/Quan Chi DLC that never came out? MK vs DCU was a crap game by every stretch of the imagination, even ignoring the lack of Gore that most people bitch about. The only redeeming factor of that game was it's storymode.
And if you got off you damn high horse and actually READ my post, I even say "Looks really cool in action".... Your a Mod, you can see when/how often I've edited my posts......

You know, oddly enough I agree; they made the Flash look cool, I want to see what they can do to Aquaman.
Guest Characters are pretty much confirmed to be in the roster, but that's about all I know. Speculation says Scorpian, but people are also saying that it would be better to let Injustice stand out as it's own IP. Besides, Batman's Grappling hook seems to be BB-X on Steroids.

Honestly, the Flash is a very cool looking character -- what with the lightning crackling everywhere and all. Aquaman would be more of a challenge but like you say the designers on this game seem to be doing a great job so it would be nice if they gave Aquaman the same treatment.

Yes, Metacritic is the site where all games have two review sources; the players, and the Reviewers. It then averages every review (Some are easier to add than others, how many points is a B Score worth?). This allows people to see how a game has faired for reviewers and how it has faired for reviewers. But it suffers the same sort of problem any player edited/reviewed site has; anyone can constantly review something in order to pump or deflate a score.
Also, I'm not crying about it; look at everyone else in this thread; they all were "provoked" into coming into this thread, but you are the only one who didn't say "Oh hey, looks cool", instead you chose to go on the offensive. Did I say it was DC's Fears? No. Did I say it was EVERYONE'S fears? No. I said it was the Mortal Kombat Fan's Fears, which is true. Also, Not everyone has heard of Injustice (Hell, first I heard of it was my new Game Informer), but everyone and their mothers has heard of Mortal Kombat.
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

The only Metacritic score anyone cares about is the reviewer one not the user one. And actually, Metacritic scores are used by publishers to determine what kind of developers they want to use to make what games.
* The More You Know *
Here's something else you might not have noticed yet: this is not a Mortal Kombat game. And Warner Bros. did not buy what became NetherRealms only to make this game. They even made an actual Mortal Kombat game before taking another crack at the DC license -- and that well-received DC v. MK game was released before Warner Bros. even bought them. What fears are you even talking about? The title of this thread is poop and makes no sense. I don't really care if no one else commented on that.
instead you chose to go on the offensive
No, my friend, this is called "going on the defensive." You see, your poopy thread title is what is offensive.
Finally, about a gazillion more people have heard of Superman, Batman, and the Justice League than Scorpion, Sub-Zero, etc.

How can I explain somethign to someone who has no intention of listening? As I have said countless times, Mortal Kombat fans on ALL fansites were against the idea of Mortal Kombat being shelved for a DCU fighting game. And now look, MK's big head-hancho is now heading up another project, which just so happens to be a DCU fighting game. Just because you refuse to beleive me doesn't mean it didn't happen. No matter how ridiculous it sounds that I tell you there was a pink elephant dancing across the room, doesn't change the fact that a pink elephant danced in that room, despite the odds of that happening if it's true.
And let me ask you something; why would WB buy Boon and Co, a designer known pretty much ONLY for Mortal Kombat, let them make one MK game that had HUGE critical success and revived the entire series in alot of gamer's eyes, and then immediately swap them to another game IP? Boon only ever said they wanted to move on to something else, but they just so happen to move on to DCU? I don't think so......
Also, you ARE being intentionally confrontational, as if it was truely so offensive, you would have just renamed the thread.....
Edit: Yes, a whole lot more people have heard of Superman, Batman and the rest. That's why MK vs DCU sold so well, because when was the last time ANY of them had a good game? Arkham Asylum was a year after, if I remember right.....

Mortal Kombat 9 was released in 2011. This game will be released in 2013. I don't see how you can claim that Injustice shows that MK is being "shelved." Both DCU v. MK and MK9 were well-received by critics and sold well, too. Apparently, the only people who didn't like them are folks posting on the "fansites"

How many tourney's was MK vs DCU in? The game was borked as hell; Sub Zero could simply freeze you, walk forward and mash the 4 button, you couldn't get out without a breaker. Kitana didn't even have that, just walk forward and go -> 1 and frame trap you. A fighting game isn't based upon how much it sells, it's about how long it lasts.
But anyway, the devil on my shoulder who is usually reasonable has convinced me just to stop sidetracking this thread and change the title. Let's just both agree to disagree and let each other lie.
Who do you want in this game, Manchu? I'm hoping for Bane, Static(k?), and Raven.
