Yeah, when I first linked that this morning, it was about five lines of info. Much more information about it coming out now.

If i seemed a bit ticked off earlier by the way in the manner I posted it. well as a father, and the suggestion (not sure if its changed since) that children where among the victims. This kind of ego boosting 'I want to be famous' killing really gets under my skin.

Especially at a place like that, where families would be going to destress, relax or just have fun watching a movie for a few hours.

Well, plenty of people have a rifle, and there are plenty of mass shootings which are not politically terrorism related. For example, the Breikvik shooting was individual terrorism but really it was just a lone wolf. This was probably a lone wolf.

Unfortunately, a modern society cannot function with the level of security seen at airline departure lounges. It has been studied in the UK for use on the London Underground, and it simply is not logistically possible.

It would be even worse in the USA, where you need to allow for most people legitimately to be carrying guns.

ABC News have named one James Holmes, 24, of North Aurora, as the man arrested at the scene of the Denver cinema massacre during the midnight screening of the The Dark Knight Rises, wearing a a bullet-proof vest and riot helmet. He was captured in the car park outside the cinema with a gas mask, rifle, and handgun. And it is his apartment block which has been evacuated and searched as a result of fears of further action.

I am investigating whether a James Holmes of Denver, a friend of a Facebook friend of mine, is the same man.

It is also likely that questions about the Batman character and franchise itself will soon start to be asked publicly. One witness report that the shooting was timed to match shooting on the screen is a haunting one.

But seriously, this is just getting beyond stupid! First the TEC shooting last month, then the Danzig street mass shooting on Monday and now this mass shooting in Denver?! WTF is up with these useless idiot gakheads?!
I say the cops should have just shot him on sight and save the taxpayers the couple million that'll be blown on his trial.

Bush had the right of it after the Virginia tech shootings, what the Americans need to do is make sure that MORE people have guns, so they can defend themselves better!

Evidently:
1. He came in through the emergency entrance, wearing a gas mask. He threw in a tear gas bomb (no info if homemade but one report noteted "cannister" which opens a whole new bag of worms); and came in shooting along the main aisle especially at people trying to escape. At point of writing 20ish shots. Some witnesses thought he initially was targeting a specific area but this doesn't sound specific.

2. As an aside the theater was posted-no conceal carry. People legally carrying couldn't do so in that theater.

3. Again as an aside there were multiple kids in the theater. Again who brings elementary aged or under kids to a Nolan style Batman movie? Whats the encore - Deer Hunter?

Things like these just shouldn't be reported at all. The motivations for these things are ALWAYS a desire for fame/to be understood and evaluated on tv by all the talking heads. Pyscologists are in no doubt about this.

I'm just saying, you know.. in the US every fether gets shot because there are guns everywhere. Common sense says to me that everyone being tooled up is fething stupid.

Its hardly an axe to grind, I like guns, and If I move to CA im getting myself one.

Well maybe two. Walking around in the US without a gun seems pretty dumb in this day and age!

From the way reports are coming, it makes sense there was an assumption of an accomplice.

One witness stated that he saw an individual "appearing to talk upon a cell phone" and then walk out the emergency exit that the shooter used.

Another witness has stated that the shooter was very "calm and methodical", wearing a gas mask so he could continue to see and apparently only firing a shot when he had one.

Makes me fething sick to think about all this. This had to have been planned out far in advance, and the fact that seemingly the shooter stashed his equipment outside on the premises is worrying.

Yeah, that theater is about 15 mins from me, it's refered to as the Belmar movie theater. Been getting texts and PMs all morning.

The guys was very methodical from reports tossed tear gas canisters and went to town while wearing a Joker T-Shirt. The audience didn't have a chance to react as at first they though it was part of the show, until the canister explosions went off.

He was toting a "rifle", shotgun, and some pistols. The investigation at his place had no evidence of bomb materials, but there were a LOT of guns and "buckets of bullets".

Apparently in CO we breed crazy through stress? Dude was 24you with no prior criminal history.

You won't ":get rid of the guns." All you'll do is restrict legal owners. Again, its already illegal to go around blowing stuff up, and the theater was being all PC with the No CC posting.
Frazzled resists the urge to note this stuff never seems to occur in police stations or at the local pistol competition.

I'm just waiting for the people to start blaming the movie for everything, ala "He took inspiration from the Joker/Bane!!!!"

The template isn't "the movie did it." The template is "right wing media" did it. Brian Ross of ABC News needs to do journalism a favor and quit. It's one thing to have a political agenda but trying to link the shooting to the Tea Party is just despicable. I would like to see news shows REPORT the news instead of trying to "spin" it.

Earlier, ABC News' Brian Ross and George Stephanopoulos speculated on Good Morning America that Holmes was a Tea Party member, based solely on a name appearing on a Tea Party website.
The James Holmes for whom Breitbart News has obtained documentation is 25 years old (the suspect has been reported as 24 years old). He has links to addresses in both Colorado and San Diego, where his mother has been reported to be from, according to news reports. He was issued a traffic citation in 2011--his sole run-in with the law. The same is true for the suspect arrested in connection with the shootings, according to reports. Update: Fox News reports that the suspect has a California-issued social security number, as does the man in the documents obtained by Breitbart News--a significant correlation, assuming the sources are independent.

Furthermore, the James Holmes for whom records were obtained by Breitbart News registered as a Democrat on June 14, 2011. He registered from an address in La Plata County, Colorado, and his status is listed as "inactive."

Breitbart News has not confirmed that this James Holmes is in fact the suspect, but the details above appear to match closely. There are certainly more facts in our documents than in ABC News' irresponsible speculations.
