Basically I am a War hammer fantasy player and have grown very accustomed to those tactics and wanted some help developing tactics for my 40 k list.

Chaplain with term arm

9 sniper scouts w/ one rocket launcher (camo cloaks)
9 sniper scouts w/ one rocket launcher (camo cloaks)
9 sniper scouts w/ one rocket launcher (camo cloaks)
9 sniper scouts w/ one rocket launcher (camo cloaks)
9 sniper scouts w/ one rocket launcher (camo cloaks)

10 termiee w/ 2 cyclone missile launchers

I know its not the most competetive list out there it was designed for fun, I just need some strategies and tactics to make this list work

Thanks for the advice!

Id be really worried about coming up against armor 14 you have 7 krak missiles a turn and glancing on 6's it just doesnt look good. Not sure what to suggest that would make your list better...

Split those Scout units up (Combat tactics), and put 5 of them in a Landspeeder Storm. It will give you a Multi-Melta, much manouvrability and a very nice model too!

It's VERY one dimensional. Any army that can bring a few blasts will wipe it out quickly. I'd recommend making it a bit more diverse.

Snipers are too specialised to make up the bulk of your firepower, great at downing MC/ICs but terrible for dealing with anything in large numbers.

Think more along the lines of.

2 or so squads of scout snipers with MLs, 1 with telion.

A few small squads in land speeder storms with shotguns + Sgt with combi weapon/power fist for mobile objective grabbers.

Land speeders or stormtalons for fire support.

Scout bike squad with homer and grenade launchers.

Some termies.

I for one welcome our new revenant titan overlords...

The chaplain doesn't fit, you have no Anti-Av14, Nothing is any good for holding objectives. Simply, this list can't be made to work.

Yeah, this list can only really be "made to work" in very casual games. The core concept of the list requires you to not take elements that are fairly critical for success in the modern environment.

I field very scout heavy lists alot. I've found the sniper scouts to be good when you have a maximum of ten of them (one squad or two different five men squads). They mainly support the others and harass the enemies. They are rather effective against high toughness targets.

Bolter scouts I like the most and they should outnumber all your other scouts. They are versatile and with the new rapid fire rules quite mobile too. All of them don't need to have that heavy bolter but ten strong squads should always have a heavy weapon and be combat squaded. I'd suggest a heavy bolter and never forget the hellfire shell that it can use. It can be used to great effect in some situations. Their sergeants I usually give a combi-plasma or just the normal bolter and sometimes melta bombs.

Melee scouts can be evil to the enemy. Especially when put in a land speeder storm. A shotgun or two for the shooting phase before the assault and the rest with bolt pistol and combat blade for more attacks during the assault phase. The sergeant can go with a fist and a combi-weapon or a power weapon and a pistol depending on what you wish to target with him. The landspeeders are a lot of fun with multi-meltas (and effective) and bring much needed anti-tank weapons to support the scouts.

I also very much recommend fielding scout bikers. The grenade launchers they may have can be deadly. They can pop light vehicles and the bikes are able to get behind tanks to hit the rear armor with them. The locator beacon is a good option if you want to deep strike other units into certain areas accurately as the bikes can get there fast. I also like to give the sergeant melta bombs just in case (and they have saved me several times). The cluster mines are optional but can be effective depending on what stumbles across them.

For friendly/casual games you can go with interesting variation squads if you wish. Sometimes when playing games like that I may go with a ten man scout squad based around bolters, one will have a heavy bolter, one sniper, one shotgun and sergeant with a pistol (usually bolt but plasma works too) and a chainsword (a power weapon could work also). Split them into a combat squad so that one half has the HB, sniper and three bolter scouts and the other half has the sergeant, shotgun and three bolter scouts. Sergeant's half being a mobile team with a tad bit more melee power and the other half being more of a support squad that could be sitting on an objective if you so wish.

I that is of some use to you... I think I didn't forget anything.

Of course it makes sense. When there are a bunch of BDSM clowns doing Olympic gymnast routines throughout your unit, while also cutting off heads, you tend to get a bit distracted.

It would be easy enough to add in some chainfists to help with the AP14 problem.

Well, this army is too mono-dimensional. You have to have units against all kinds of threats, like tanks, flyers, fast moving units, and so on.

If you want a Scout army, also consider Scout Bikers and Scouts in an LSS escorted by a Stormtalon.

For a 1st/10th list don't forget that not everyone in the 1st company wears TDA. You can also field sternguard or vanguard veterans.

The 10th company also has the normal chaplain, captain and command squad, and can call on chapter resources like the motor pool and librarians.

Snipers have their place, but just spamming them is not going to work. You can make a very fluffy and viable 1/10 list though if you work with all the options available.
