Pretty much what it says on the can. Hopefully rumors are true about the future new sculpts to the greater demon line. I'd love too see that, especially on the great unclean one. Anyway, here is my alternative to the current bloodthirster (wings are magnetized as well if I ever feel like running Scarbrand or a DP). Hope you like it!

Thanks! Glad you like the idea. I originally tried searching around and there are a couple of cool bloodthirster sub-ins from other companies, but they were a little too expensive for my tastes. The doombull fit my price range well at least.

I really, really like this model, not just because of the conversion, but because of the skin tone. Is it possible you could make a tutorial as to how you converted him?

Yeah, sure. I'll get around to taking a photo of where I drilled the magnet holes tonight and putting them up. The wings I used are the Vargheist wings. I was affraid the other wings sold by GW (Dragon wings, Balrog wings, etc.) would be too large. When I realized the model actually came on a 40mm base and not a 60mm (or whatever the fantasy equivalent is) I am glad I decided on the smaller Vargheist wings.

The skin was done as follows:
1.Primed white
2. Red Gore base (or equivalent)
3. Blood Red highlight (or equivalent)
4. Blazing Orange secondary highlight (or equivalent)
5. Baal Red wash (or equivalent)
6. Brush on Tamiya Clear to add the gloss effect. (something I am doing to all my demons to make them kinda pop and look more not-of-this-world)

Hope that helps. I'll post the drill areas on his back later.

I like it, it really looks quite feral. Great job on the skin tone, it really achieves what you were hoping for.

I actually did the opposite to make my Doombull before the new kit came out.

Anyway, sorry for replying late. Here are the spots on the back I drilled holes into for the magnets:



Best place I can describe the area is directly on what I'm guessing are his shoulder blades. There are two very prominent bumps and are about parallel with one another on the back, which is where I chose to put the wings. Drilled into the wings too a bit to fit the magnets and and once done molded GS around the wing ends so they kinda hugged the Doombull's back better (i.e. so they didn't slip down due to gravity as much).

Just finished these guys recently too, figured I'd post them as well. Bloodletters are older, but I think this is a better pic of them.










Got 3 Flamers, 10 more Horrors, and the Changeling on the way. After that I'm honestly not sure what I want to add to my list. I kinda want to add either plague bearers or Daemonettes. Just having a hard time deciding which will do better. Any thoughts on that?

The other option was wait for CSM to come out and either get Typhus and some Plague Marines or Kharn and a big squad of Berzerkers as allies to put me up to 1500-1750 range.

This conversion looks so natural that I'm puzzled that I haven't seen it done before. All the "new" DB needs is a pair of wings!
