If the Tally of Pestilence is racked up to 10 kills, the Plague Marines will get the Noxious Touch rule. The rule states "The Daemon's close combat attacks are poisoned, wounding ..." My question is would this apply to Plague Marines? There are two ways of looking at it:
1) they have the rule so they are supposed to be able to use it. Or
2) they aren't a Daemon so the rule means nothing.

Which is correct?

Do plague marines have the mark of nurgle? If so...

Yes they have the mark but they are not daemons. So they get the rule but what I'm wondering is if you can use it?

You need to read the tally rule again.

From a pure RAW perspective, no they can't use it. They get the upgrade but because they aren't "daemons", then they can't really use it.

There was a similar issue last edition with the grey knight dreadknight. He had a DCCW (the nemesis doomfists), however, because he wasn't a "dreadnought", then it wasn't 2x his strength.

The abilities granted by the Tally aren't restricted to Daemons. The codex says they are granted to 'followers of Nurgle', which are defined as "and Daemon of Nurgle or model with the Mark of Nurgle, both friends and enemies"

My question is, does Abadon get the abilities, and do his kills count towards the Tally? He doesn't have a Mark of Nurgle, he has the Mark of Chaos Ascendant, which combines all of the abilities of the other Marks. It doesn't say that it counts as each type of mark.

In games where it's come up, we've thus far said that it does count.

Abaddon does not have the Mark of Nurgle. He has the Mark of Chaos Ascendent (or whatever the heck it is called), so no, he does not benefit.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Actually he has all the marks, since he has the benefits of them. Though this doesn't matter for much long since the new CSM book is a month away.

I do not see where under his wargear it says he has the Mark of Khorne/Nurgle/Slaanesh/Tzeentch. He has his special Mark which gives him the bonuses of all the Marks, but he does not actually have any of the Marks.

It says it under the rule for the mark of chaos ascendant. "Because of the mark of tzeentch his invulnerable save is a 4+, the other marks are included in his profile." He has +1 toughness from his mark of nurgle.

The thing is he dosnt need it/cant really benifit from it anyway he's already wounding on 2+, he wouldnt need any of the poison attacks, he cant gain the benifit of fnp since he dosnt have that rule the only one thing that would help is the big 20+ dead of all attaks negating amor saves wich against everything else aside 2+ is dead when he meets him already.

I hated that FAQ because it made no sense. But you do make a good point that the same situation would apply here. Thanks and oh well.
