Ok,
So I've been doing some thinking about the best ways to get daemons on the board quickly, 3+ reserve roll is an improvement, but how else can I get my hordes into the fight?
I've come up with a couple of options, but I know there must be more out there.
1) Ally with IG, use an Astropath in a command squad to +1 my reserve rolls, I think that the other stuff you have to take to get him though probably makes it points inefficient.
2) Aegis defence line with a comms relay - re rolling reserve rolls, pretty cheap, but not that much use otherwise, and uses up a quad gun slot.
Dakka-ites - please let me know your thoughts and suggestions as to how to affect that reserve roll using units that daemons can ally with!
Thanks,
Hazrat

Why do you need them all on the table so quickly? I play shooty Flying Circus Tzeentch so I like to deep-strike in my own half (a unit of horrors with a chaos icon in each half of the army, of course), then turn 3/4 deepstrike around them and let my MCs rip the enemy to shreds.

How has that been working out for you in 6th?
What I'm worried about is drip feeding units in on turns 2 and 3, watching them get shredded, when ideally I would get everything down in turn 2 if possible and start to blow things off the board.
Right now I am planning on 2 units of horrors, 3 maxed out units of flamers, the same of screamers and a herald on disc.

Just grand. Most enemies don't have the long range dakka to get you in your own deployment zone (especially with a 50% chance of night fighting turn 1), so they'll usually move some of their army up, keeping half back on an objective. Then by turn 2/3 when my MCs have arrived (get off a few shots early on but nothing special), swoop up the board keeping around fateweaver, Gazing, Breathing and Vector Striking everything in their path, while the horrors chill out around the objectives and try not to die.
In my experience in 6th, the key to winning as Flying Circus is your enemy dividing his forces. Typically this will be gunline stuff at the back with assaulty stuff running forward. It's often tempting, especially if they go first, for them to rush forward with their assault units while their dakka hangs back. This means my FMC can concentrate all their attacks against the forward units, then swoop up turn 4/5 to destroy the rest. If they're all concentrated it's much harder to do this, as the likelihood of being grounded/assaulted increases.
All I will say about the new flamers is they are not 6th edition paladins. They're good but they're very easily countered and killed.

I've been allying with IG with my circus with good success
I start the game with a bastion and 20 guard blobbed in. On the top I have a quad gun to help combat flyers, and I bring a vendetta to help the circus. The whole package is not that many points and adds a lot of value to your circus -- especially if you don't get your preferred wave.
I would not bother with the astropath though. Ive been using a tech priest who fixes the vendetta

Are Guard and Daemons Battle Brothers? 'Cause otherwise the Astropath doesn't effect the Daemons.

Maybe it was bad rolling or just because it was dark eldar. I played them with a flying circus and it was a bloodbath. DE ignored night fighting, have a high volume of shots to ground FMCs, and most shots wound on 4+ because of poison.
So, I am a little jaded against my daemons right now.

Reserve roll modifiers don't need to be battle brothers.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

DE are a terrible matchup for Daemons and even for for the Flying Circus with their speed, plethora of attacks and great tarpit units.
The new reserves have greatly improved getting Daemon units into play, I do not think I would waste a lot of points trying to speed it up - unless what I brought had some other additional utility.
