Try clearing your cache.

1.) Internet Explorer 7/8: go to Tools, Internet Options. Hit "Delete..." Check only the box for "Temporary Internet Files". Let that go, close every single IE window, and try again.

2.) Internet Explorer 9: Click the gear in the upper right, and go to Safety, Delete Browsing History, and again, check the box (only) for "Temporary Internet Files". Let that go, close every single IE window, try again.

3.) Firefox: Tools, Options, Advanced, Network, click the "Clear Now" button next to Offline Storage. Close and reopen FF and try again.

4.) Chrome: Click the wrench in the upper right, Options. Go to "Under the Hood". Click "Clear Browsing Data..." and check only the box for "Clear the cache". Let it go and close and reopen Chrome and try again.

5.) Internet Explorer 6: In the address bar, type in "google.com", and do a search for one of the browsers from any of the above steps. Install it and try again.

I get this sometimes. Moveing your mouse to the post above and then back to the abbreviation usually does the trick.

Click 'switch theme', chances are you are on the mobile theme (automatically switches to that if your window size goes below 801 pixels). Change it back to the normal theme and popups get enabled again.

woah woah woah. Does your company send any kind of valuable info over IE6?

Give me the number to your IT department, I have a few words for them, none of which will be abbreviated.

Company? Try NHS....so, yeah, loads of confidential information. And yes, i have tried telling our IT department (when i worked there) just how bad IE6 is. Apparently you can 'upgrade' to IE7, but thats only if you have a valid reason (the online, out-of-Trust database you need to use doesnt support IE6 for example) and get managers permission....so not going to happen.

its disgraceful.

Thank you though Aerethan.

Just to go slightly OT - you would be surprised how many large organisations and corporate entities still use IE6. Unfortunately, it isn't just a case of saying 'OMG Noobs - upgrade cos IE6 sucks!' - most of these places have legacy systems that interface with IE and would not work with newer version without significant rework. Most of these companies are looking at huge bills if they choose to upgrade browsers, hence why they stick with it. They aren't stupid; they know it's bad but money is king.

O definitely, thats always been the problem here (money), it would be a huge cost to upgrade everyone to IE7, let alone anything newer. There are (off the top of my head) 5000-8000 users on the network here, with probably 1 PC between 3 on average? (obviously, its 1:1 in an office, but very different on a Ward/A&E/Theatres) So the cost would be astronomical.

AFAIK there isnt anything that wouldnt work with a newer browser that we use ( so long as its only up to IE7, i knmow theres at least one database that specifies IE6/7 only), but there are programs that dont work with IE6 that are very important (Cancer databases), hence why the request option is even available at all.
