I am trying to make a Necron themed Aegis defense line and was wondering if:
1. does anyone have the dimensions for the aegis line pieces that I could use
2, anyone have good ideas for making one.
I got about a month before nova to make it up so any advice would be helpful. All I know so far is I am going to use a heavy gauss cannon for the icarus lascannon
- Aegis Defence line:
Tall parts are 1.5", low parts 1" high.
The short section is 2" wide, the long section about 5.25"
On the long section, the middle part is 1" further back than the two tall parts.
The "mail slot" is 1.25" from the ground.
The mounting of the quad-gun is exactly as high a tall piece of the wall, the gun itself is entirely above the wall.

Also I think for necrons you could do a decent Aegis line using the bits from a Ghost ark.

Or maybe just cut up a circuit board in to the shapes of the shields used by the praetorians (I think they're the ones with them)

There is an infinity terrain piece that has a "force field" look to it between two pillars, made with glowing acrylic/Perspex stuff..
I would just make some foam-board pillars/corners, buy some fluro colored acrylic, and have at it, and aegis wall can be a "force field" too..
Green for necrons, I dunno... Blue for eldar? You get the idea...
(for anyone that doesn't know what I mean, it's the same glowing green plastic that necron warriors have in the weapons, but instead of a rod, it's a flat sheet, you can cut to size..
Many online based suppliers around the world... Just a thought, it's what I plan to do...

Could also have some scarabs with shield generators. Call them Aegis Scarabs or something, they dig into place before battle and project a small field of energy which disperses the energy from incoming projectiles rendering them harmless most of the time. Just something to add to making a forcefield easy.

The suggestion I gave my friend who was looking for ideas was to use some of the shields from the lychguard and join them with lengths of green rods or something similar. Put them on a base so that they are the proper length to match the stock defense line sections (and so they stand up) and you're done.

I had two designs in mind;
One was a forcefield between "necron like" pylons, and the other was kind of like a wall where the higher parts (similar to the aegis) were like small monoliths/pyramids/obolisks bracketing a short living metal wall.
I am already building my necron auto guns, will try to post some pics up when I get it more done....

I like the idea of 'force field scarabs', that sounds quite Necronish fluffwise. Don't know what you'd make them out of though - not convinced that just sticking bits to normal scarabs would work visually.
Making Ghost Ark 'ribs' into a force field fence also seems fluffy, but ridiculously expensive unless you have good use for the leftover bits. Maybe instead copy the ghost ark rib shape onto plasticard and add some detailing? Hmm, actually, this would be ideal for one of those laser cutting or 3D design places.

I was looking at the bits from the ghost ark that is used to connect the necron warriors to the ark and figured that looks like it would make a great field generator. Next wouild be plasticard. I remember seeing a tutorial about how to give something an energy field effect on a flat surface with crumpled plastic or something.
Main problem now is finding out the dimensions of all the pieces so I dont get into trouble.
