Can we roll LOS on things like a plasma gun, melta, wolfen, banner, flamer, etc since the wargear is different? The reason I am asking is because the rule says we can, but with models with their own profile. Do these war gear options give the models their own profile? Or when they say own profile we flip to the codex and their is a profile under the squad profile (that is normally because the attack is diffeerent or the I, LdR, etc though. Please let me know!

No, it specifically says characters can only do it.

The back of the rulebook has a chart that lists characters, although this is incomplete as there are no named HQs listed under the chart

Everyone with a name is a special character.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

Named models are, by definition, special characters.

Not sure it took two people saying the same obvious point, but my point still stands as there are no characters listed on the chart that are named...

The chart isnt incomplete - it is 100% as complete as it needs to be.

1) Was he hit with melta shots and the Character rolled LoS to pass them to other squadmates?

Or

2) The guy carrying the meltagun in the unit took the wounds and he was trying to LoS off of non character models?

If 1 then that is fine.

If 2 then that is not allowed as they are not Characters. (Unless it was a Sergeant or an IC carrying the Meltagin)

It was a melta model that was being rolled for...like it was a ch. I know to correct it now.

Why, are they characters? Nothing indicates a Trygon prime SHOULD be a character....

We don't know if it is, since they didn't put it in there.

PS:Seems GW have a hard time copy-pasting from their own books. And yes a trygon prime has a different profyle from a normal trygon.

It's supposed to be a list of every unit in the game that isn't a named character. And yet they missed two (AFAIK).

Evidence that the Trygon Prime is supposed to be a character? Are you just making an assumption or is it stated somewhere?

I never said it is, what i said is that they didn't include it or the tyranid prime in the list.
Which is a sure sign GW gave failed to include everything in it.

I don't have my book handy - does it have other ICs?
So you mentioning the Trygon Prime is a red herring? If its not listed, and it's not an IC or named character... It isn't one.

As far as I can tell the only things not listed in the back are named characters and Tyranid/Trygon Primes.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I'm not sure why it's so hard to understand. He has mentioned this a few times. EVERYTHING is listed. Everything (that isn't a special character). My purifiers are listed, and then the knight of the flame is listed. One of the char, the other not. Still both listed. Since it's a list.
Then he mentions two units that are not listed. Even though everything else is listed.

Maybe they are char, maybe they are not. But they should still be listed. See the problem?

It's not a red herring, since no one is arguing heavy weapons-guys should get LOS. That has sort of been dealt with. The thread has just derailed into a different discussion. Which is sort of fine, since the original topic is done and dealt with. No red herring, just a logical continuation on something that came from the original one.

Read the thread. Someone mentioned a chart that had a list of all characters.
Someone else said the Trygon Prime isn't on there.
See why I would think he's trying to make the Trygon Prime a character?

Noone never mentioned that as no such thing exist, what we talked about however is the "full" unit type chart near the end of the rulebook.

Yeah, no one ever mentioned it. I imagined it.

And if you had a rulebook you'd know that the list lists a lot more than characters.

I do have a rulebook. Just not with me at the time. I was thinking there was a chart I'd missed.
