Has GW released any finecast models that are new sculpts?
I've seen a bunch of finecast stuff which is just a rehash of old metal minis (heck, some of the Eldar ones are the same as the old metal minis I had 12 years ago when I last did W40k).

Just curious if all they're doing is recycling old stuff or making new stuff.

So many games, so little time.

So many models, even less time.

Screw it, Netflix and chill.

In the dark recesses of your mind...

Offhand I know that many of the necron finecast models are new sculpts. The Orge Kingdom Firebelly is also new. I'm sure there are quite a few more.

And unlike the remakes of metal models, all the original Finecost sculpts are 100% perfect and error free. They also have more detail than metal, justifying the additional cost.

Yes.

Since they decided to go KFC, ( heh heh) they have been using the finecast for all of the models that were previously metal, and the new releases- Specific examples include the Dark Eldar, and the Vampire Counts stuff.

I am still not a fan, but I will give credit where credit is due. The models are getting better, by half a step. Still has the flash and bubble issues on some sculpts, but not on some of the newer ones.

Its still a high probibility that you get the scrappy do treatement, but there is a better probibility that they have improved models out there for you.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Main reason the newer models look better is because these are cast with molds made for resin casting, unlike the previous Finecast models, which are cast in metal molds.

Never sure if you're being sarcastic or not

If that's true I may well get the Blue Scribes

This is completely false. I have had the worst trouble with the new necron finecast models. The only two good finecast models I purchased (out of seven purchases) were older dark elf models that did not receive new molds. This is anecdotal of course.

I believe in a few of the old finecast threads that people with much more knowledge than I have on casting said that the problem is more likely with the method of casting as opposed to the molds themselves.

In response to the OP, yes, there are brand new (Finecast only) releases.

Quality that I have seen (in both GW Finecast and Forgeworld spin-cast products) has been consistently terrible. There is a definite reason Forgeworld backtracked and remade moulds for pressure casting on a number of their product lines. Not sure if they're still putting out the spin cast stuff.

The added value causes an increase in insurance rates and handling costs to far flung locales like Australia which justify the subsequent price hikes occuring there. Not sure if you're serious now that you do contract work for their licensee... I'm not.

I am really hoping that this is sarcasm, and you are not simply blind.
