'ey Dakka.
Im getting underway painting my badmoonz army up and need some advice or examples on how to go about painting 'red paint job'
i love that look of yellow and green with my orks and all the yellow schoolbus vehicles and planes. but going fasta is sumthing id also like, but im just so torn about adding red into my color scheme... im worried my army will look like ronald mcdonald
would be great if anyone could share any of their badmoonz or red paintjobs.
i could just add a small red patch and have most of my vehicles/planes yellow i guess. maybe a red stripe... or i even thought about splattering blood all over the front and using that as red paintjob... even tho its technically not paint.

Cheers

If it's vehicles, the easiest way is just to paint the undersides red, so when people want to know where the RPJ is, just flip your trukk/battlewagon over and show em the red gore of all the victims the orks have run over

Alternatively, because Bad Moonz have flame motifs in black against their dirty yellow, you could instead have red flame patterns in some areas.

I would actually suggest one of two easy alternatives, which both revolve around the same principle: Don't paint Bad Moonz vehicles red.

The red, 'fasta' vehicles are more commonly associated with the Evil Sunz, as they are the clan with the obsession for speed. Ork Waaaghs often include mobs from an assortment of Klans, so there is no problem with just including Evil Suns vehicles in your Bad Moons army.

The other alternative, given the Bad Moonz general technological superiority over other klans, is to just paint them to match your army but give them supersized engines instead of the red paint.

I think the issue here insaniak, is that the OP wants to truly, properly and literally represent the "red paint job" as true WYSIWYG, so that at some tournament, some donkey cave wont be able to call out the OP's Ork vehicles as not having the upgrade because its not properly represented on the model.

Just a possibility, but it could happen.

Hence the first of my two suggestions...

Paint the trukks or battle wagons yellow or red then do flames coming from the front of the opposite color. At least that is what I am planning on, and if you don't have the points for RPJ just say they are flames.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

great thanks for those ideas!
i especially love the one about painting the underside red with gore. i think thats guna be the winner for what im after. also WYSIWYG compatible
the undercarriage of my fighta bombas and battlewagon will look pretty rad covered with gore.. probably from a wolf

edit: yeah that idea is wicked.. you could actually go pretty quick with all those slipery gutz under ur vehicle. its fluffy and orky and i dont have to take those evil sunz gitz. .. we'z badmoons will show em true speed!

If you really wanna show off that gore and blood, be sure to paint over the red with some hardcoat, or some other form of gloss varnish. Will make it seem all the more icky

Paint them the color to match the rest of your army, then if any opponent says anything tell them you thought that was red, because you are partially colorblind.

Or:

Paint them the color to match the rest of your army, then if any opponent says anything tell them your Orks are colorblind and they think that the vehicles are red.

I think you all are forgetting the most important thing here: They're Orks! Orks are never consistent. Paint the goggles red and say that because the Ork sees his vehicle as red it goes faster. Or that the driver has been convinced by the Big Mek that yellow is "Fasta".
However, if jerks who want to call WYSIWYG fouls... I'd just paint the odd plate red. Gore is also good. Maybe model a grot that's been smashed against the front as a last minute and speed boosting paint job?

Paint the front of the vehicle red e.g. Grill and bumper, y'know make it look like its nailed some beasties going 100 KPH. If you can find any odd bits put those between the bumper and the grill, make it a gorefest.

Win

in Inquisitor, a Space Marine can take a krak grenade, pull out the pin, eat the grenade, throw the pin, and the thrown pin will actually kill a normal man, whereas the Space Marine won't even have indigestion. This has actually happened in a game. Hell, a marine can throw his bolt shells and do more damage than by shooting his boltgun
