I was wondering if I should buy the Dark Vengeance set but I don't play Dark Angels, I do however though, need a Chaplain and a Librarian (I don't remember if it had one). Should I still buy it though with all of the accessories (rulebook, templates, etc.) that come with it?

I think it really depends on how much you want the rulebook, etc. Also, bear in mind that you can sell the things you don't want on ebay to recoup some of the cost.

Really you're the only person who can answer whether it's worth it for you.

The alternative is to buy the two models and templates you need from any source (GW/independent/ebay) and get the rulebook from ebay.

Follow these two simple rules to ensure a happy Dakka experience:

Rule 1 - to be a proper 40K player you must cry whenever a new edition of the game is released, and always call opposing armies broken when you don't win.

Rule 2 - Games Workshop are always wrong and have been heading for bankrupcy within 5 years since the early 90s.

Well, you could always make the spare models and just paint them as your mairine army, maybe swapping out the more obviously DA bits with spare SM bits. And I'm sure that you could eBay off the Chaos or SM bits that you don't want.

Well, I don't exactly have any of the stuff I need to start playing so I think it's a good deal. Sorry for the silly question.

just get it. the chaplain is awesome, most of the other figures are really cool. sell whatever you dont really want, but after looking at it up close you might find some other use for it. Its a great deal and the rulebook is something i believe you need.

I'd say yes, absolutely.

If you don't play DA, sell the models/units.

The DA models have nice iconography. It would be a pity to get rid of it.

You should wait until Tuesday, I get paid tomorrow and need to make sure the LE doesn't run out!
