ok so i want to do a all infentry based ig army, is this a good idea

Some advice:

1) Remove all those smileys from your sig. It's annoying and people won't take you seriously.
2) If you want good answers, ask better questions.

An all infantry IG army could be fun, challenging, frustrating, surprising for your opponents, expensive, time consuming, and all of these at the same time. Try maybe making a list and seeing what people say about it. There are people here who have a lot of experience with foot guard, but they aren't paid professionals and have better things to do than spend time helping someone who isn't trying.

Well, if you've got a lot of time, money, patience, space, money, a love of infantry, and money to burn, they can be made to work.

But your definition of work is what determines it.

Want that WAAC Flavour of the month list that crushes everything? Then do not touch foot IG with a ten foot pole. Want a quick to pick up, cheap, and easy army to play? Again, do not pick foot IG.

It is however a good choice if you like an army that looks cool on the table, requires careful tactics to run, and enjoy pushing around hundreds of models on the table. It's got a very steep learning curve, but when you start to win games you feel like a total boss.

But we can't really help you until you tell us more about what you're planning on doing. Do you even own a codex yet for example?

Be warned that HWSs went from fragile to overfragile since 6th came out.

Decimate means to destroy by 10%

I would hope you have enough self esteem to try and kill more than just 10% of your opponent's force.

Senitals are incredibly overpowered, you'd have to be in a coma to lose with them. I'd only use senitals with plsma canons in a tournament army, otherwise you're not gonna be making a lot of friends in my not so humble opinion.

Ha you are a bad man vlad. You know damn well if this poor guy doesn't build his list around max units of ratlings in elites, 50 strong units conscripts (with minimum PIS support) with chenkov and some penal legion he'll do terribly on the tournament scene.

It won't. You'll lose before the game starts because you don't have a proper force org chart.
