So with allies in the new edition, Ive decided to add a small Tau detachment most likely consisting of a Crisis commander, a couple of broadsides and some fire warriors. These will be allied up with my 2nd company Ultramarines. The problem is I have no idea what colour to paint them. I want it to be reasonably fluffy so does anyone know of any instances (in the novels or codexes) when the Ultramarines helped or were helped by the Tau and what colour Tau they were?

In the fire warrior video game The Ultramarines were working along side a tau at one point. The Tau in question was just the standed Yellow armour with brown fatigues.

Yea I don't think there'd be any unified color scheme sans the basic tau brown + Ultramine.

you could use any of the Sept color schemes. My personal favorite is Viorla though...

Bork'an is a light blue-grey or Sa'cea which is a dark blue-grey which would mesh well with the ultramarines blue...

Or go with the standard T'au formal dress (beige) that's on the front of all the boxes.

I think that the Tau should contrast their Ultramarine allies, stand out a bit.

Yea I agree aswel Squid. Im picking up the Tau codex soon so ill have a flick through that to get some ideas.
