I was just wondering what everyone is planning on doing with the new Dark Vengeance starter set. I know that I'm really excited about the Chaos Marines! Just the design aesthetic on these models have pretty much convinced me to start a Chaos army. I'm not interested in the Dark Angles, though. I think the models themselves, especially the characters, are well done but I have never been a big fan of Dark Angles. I don't think that's going to change any time soon. While conversion might be a possibility it's probably going to be more trouble than it's worth with these models.

So, with all that said I plan on getting rid of the Dark Angles and keeping the Chaos Marines. I was just curious what everyone else plans to do.

Im keeping the DA here as ive been waiting for this relase to kick start a theme army I've been wanting to make.

Not sure what to do with the chaos stuff though, maybe ebay or something.

All the imperial stuff.

Chaos is pretty "meh."

Gonna split one set with a buddy and take the Chaos half, then get a second set just for me. I think the Dark Angels would look great with some snow basing to match my Valhallans as some allies.

I'm not going to be getting it. The models are nice, yes, but I simply don't have any interest in starting a DA or CSM army.

Keeping the DA to kickstart my first real MEQ army. Giving the Chaos stuff to my friend.

I plan on using the Dark Angles to help complete my Acute Angles custom chapter project. I think the models will be very complementary to the Blood Angles models I already have. At least that's what I think; but maybe I'm a bit obtuse.

Nah, Dark Angles seem Right to me. Sine me up.

I'm going to be keeping it all because it all looks great! I'm not a big chaos fan, but I figure with allies there may come a day when I have to ally with Chaos....

One set completely for me, 3 more sets just for the chaos.
Lucky for me, I have plenty of locals to trade with.

My vote was for "other".

While it's a cool starter, I don't have the inclination to either pay the price or the time to paint yet another army of Marines (I already can field three).

What I am definitely going to do though, is go somewhere like The Warstore after the starter comes out and at least buy the DA Librarian for my existing marines. That figure is completely awesome.

It's unfortunate that I'm "Marine'd out", too, because I was one of the ones who thought that the starter would be a frikkin' sweet "Fallen Angels Mega-battleforce" for the price.

Im not going to get it either. I like the CSM figures but none of them fit with the way I would want my CSM army to look like (when I finally start it... probably like in 7th edition lol)

and I have no interest in a DA army so... no going to buy it.

I gotta say; I don't really see the point of this thread. There's already one about what people like and don't like about the models, and there's not much relevance gathering what everyone is keeping. Unless you're a GW rep gathering data, I guess.

My friend and I are switching, I will take double DA and he will take double chaos. I've wanted to start DA since third Ed and this is the kickstart. I also want the book.

I might possibly keep the terminators for proxies until I see if chaos gets a new kit, but other than that, I'd have to say, I plan on selling everything on the DA side.

Keeping everything, All will be converted to CSM one way or another. (and for $171 for 2 limited edition sets, how could I say no?)

I'm keeping the rule book, templates, dice, DA, the chaos lord and selling the rest. Solely to make a bit more money for some praetorian guardsmen.

Me and a friend are each picking one up, hes giving me the DA from his, and I'm giving him the chaos from mine.

Well, I'll keep the DA detachment since I already have 6 RW Bikers and 20 (nonpainted) robed Vets.

I'll be keeping the DA stuff. Will also probably keep the Cultists and the Hellbrute, but I can't see myself holding on to the Chosen or the Lord. I'm going to do a World Eaters army with my CSM, and want to go pure Bunny Ears on all power armored models.

I don't play DA or Chaos, so I'm joining the 20 or so people in this poll (at the time of this post) in not buying it.

Have already ebayed the Chaos, starting a SM army so I thought this might be a good starting point plus I didnt have the rule book.

I am not sure if I want to keep the bikers though think I will use them in a game this weekend to see how they go

Dont play either army, but its more for the painting as the models look bloody amazing to me.

AO'd the LE set earlier and will be buying a normal one later on to go with it.
Plan of tinkering with the DA and making them a bit more chaos like so i can have 10 normal chaos marines, 5 termies and 3 bikes, plus a dark apostle from the chappy
Could possibly make the libby a sorceror aswell.

All that for chaos from 1 set sounds nice to me
