I got a box of Rogue Trader minis for $10 at a convention. It had an old lead landspeeder, some RT guardsmen, probably around 10-20 RT Marines, some plastic and some lead. Also got an RT era Dreadnought for $8, a bag of 10 modern assault Marines with Crimson Fists shoulder pads for $20, and was generally able to get a squad of 2nd ed Marines for around $20 each, new in box. This was all in one convention weekend.

I actually got started with 40k by getting a 3rd ed starter set for $20, then another for $10 and another for $20 in subsequent years. The last year I went, I saw another copy of the 3rd ed starter set for around $20 and decided to leave it. Hopefully, some other kid just like me picked it up and is as hooked on 40k now as I am! Flea markets at game conventions are awesome.

Back when GW put out 1500 point army boxes (I'm old) won the Dark Eldar army box for 50. Guy that sold it threw in a crapton of extra blisters, extra box of wyches, 2 complete warp beast packs, couple more boxes of warriors and a note telling me to enjoy.

I got a used defiler for $20 / free shipping from ebay and it stripped well. I also got a brand new chaos terminator box still in the shrinkwrap for $30 including shipping. I got 500 1/8 magnets for $10 plus free shipping. It was a good month of ebaying for me.

So far I have bought and awaiting delivery of around 4k points of SM, all brand new on sprue or in box (other then 1 pred and 2 IC's which are unpainted) for around 400gbp plus I have also bought included in that quite a few weapon on adds from smaller companies to have a unique look

Got all that for 500 MSRPs for over 1500, a rather good deal if I say so myself. only issue was all the various chapter addons.

2 x obliterators for £13

2 rhino's and a predator (old Shape) for £15

10 CSM's, 10 Zerkers, 5 terminators, abbadon and assorted spruce bits for conversions for £30 inc PnP.

Plus i like the idea of if i need something looking out for a great bargain instead of just popping to the shops!

I got around 50 Chaos Marines, 5 Raptors, Abaddon, 5 Chaos Terminators, Rhino, Predator, some old school Orks, paints and scenery all for £35. (All the models were old versions but still reasonable.)

I traded a 2 year old videogame that I didn't like and was normally like $15 at Gamestop for a NOS Battlewagon. Pretty happy with that trade!

I've gotten 2500pts of Orks for a 60 card deck of MtG. Then I sold those same Orks back to him for $200.

Got a Tau army for free. Sold it to the same guy as the Orks for $200.

Got a SoB army for free. Sold it to a friend in Mass for $250.

Got a ton of random models and LotR crap for free. Still rotting in the bitz bin.

I'm legendary amongst my friends for getting armies for free or next to nothing.

Got given slaves to darkness and the lost and the dammed hard back books as well as a box of mixed rogue trader books for free.

Got a Rhino that had been given a sherman tank turret (super glued straight to the rear deck) and a lascannon wedged in a hole in the front. with "snow" on it. IT was ment to be a Demolisher tank in an IG army. THe guy i got it from also tried to strip the paint form it with Pine Sol. So....

for $5 i got this little "Rhino" wit all thise stuff on it. and spent a good half hour shaving off this congeeled gunk (the "snow") and paint.

rebuilt it with plasticard and parts i already had on hand.
So for $5 i got myself a Demolisher Leman Russ.


Of course another good trio of deals came from m construction abilitys again.
Same guy before he went IG had a GK rhino or razonr back that he had haphazardly glued the top of a Stormraven too... to give it assault cannons.

Well... rebuilt it properly giving it a forward stirm bolter turret and a rear mounted assault cannon turret and all. But heres the thing. buried inside the Rhion were 2 metal Argo-flaggulates!

I built them AND the Rhino. and sold all three back to the guy.

I picked up about $3000 in sealed Fantasy, 40k, and LOTR blisters and box sets from a former game store owner who had had the stock in his basement for 7 years. Still working on selling and trading it off. Have built a Ginormous collection from trading and made my money back in spades.
