I personally am going to have a biased opioid ( I be with the Guard) but I think orks would be to busy killing one another in order to fuy unite into a massive waaaaghhh not only do they have the legions of the imperium ( Guard , Spacemarines, titian legions . We are assuming the imperials are freed up in other combat zones ) so not only would the orks have fight the imperium you also have Tyranids , necrons , chaos ect. The orks would jump in the same gak boat as the imperium , and given their lack of long term tactics I 'd say you'd be looking at almost extinction of the orks . Just my idea on it ( don't git me to much , about ork codex and cannon)

If they managed to unify they could. Probably a few times over. Orkz is made fer' two fings! Fightin', and winnin'!

They also breed like rabbits.

Nope. Even IF they managed to unite under the Greatest warlord ever. They would make massive inroads, but then 1 boy would punch another boy for eating his lunch (aka snotling) and then the other boyz would start chipping in with a push or punch, and then the 2 halves of the mob would start a gutting each other, which then spreads to the next mob and the next, then to the rest of the warband, and from there they ruck with the warband next to them and then the next and so on. Before long the Galaxies Ork populations are slaughtering each other instead of the few remaining bemused humans...

The Snotling however escapes and leads a long and prosperous life.

That being said, Orks ... basically will inherit the galaxy is more than likely what is going to happen, because even if we conquer it that would be short lived and we'd go back to fighting one another after dat.

Still... with 28 actives Waaaghs, and being used as the brute force needed to deal with other races problems (ultramar diverts nids to ork planets, Eldrad of the Eldar supposedly having a hand in Ghazzy's creation) and just a testament to What it took to grind the Ork offensive in Armageddon to a draw it's clear the Imperium of Man boasts but save it's closest roots cannot defy true Ork Unity.

Still, I prefer our role in 40k i would rather know we are the biggest and baddies around and much like the Incredible hulk others beg, deceive or tempt us into fighting their battles for them. I don't much care for domination leave that to the pansies who don't know how to fight proppah!

I don't know about conquering the galaxy, by their very nature even if they did win, the Orks would collapse in on themselves due to infighting. If they all did unite, however, I believe they would be perfectly capable of wiping the floor with the rest of the factions.

The Eldar wouldn't allow it. They would lead whole Waaagh!s into the Eye of Terror before they allowed that to happen.

I'm fully aware of how aggressive ork leadership is. But their is always a prtender to the throne.

The Orks were created to preserve the Galaxy, nothing can stop them permanently. They are not meant to rule, but to guard and defend.

Not to mention the Ork habit of always knocking down the biggest and baddest galactic player helps maintain control and diversity.

Think of them as the unintentional gardeners of the Milky Way. Trimming off dead or broken empires and helping combat nasty bugs ( literally ) and infection ( chaos ).

Its always said "if orks united we are screw" or somethign equivilent.

But the sheer fact that by ork nature (which CANNOT CHANGE, no matter whos in charge or whatever) They can't unite. So sure. Orks could take over small bitz of the galaxy liek they alreayd have. BUT they will soon devolve into killing each other and it brings everything to a grinding halt.

Ork could spread to eveyr single planet (due to the fact the spores and such) but they would never unite together as one cohesive entity. SO no.

No, they won't. The closest they ever came was The Beast in M35 or so and that still fell apart.

That would actually be a daemon world mentioned in the 4th edition codex where Ork warriors are reborn every morning to fight again.

Agreed, we could if we 'wanted to' but we don't need to nor see a purpose in ruling or taking it over. Our territory is wherever we want it more or less. Every other Empire simply thinks its a fight when we know it's just like telling a baby no ... he'll get it even if he has to kick, scream, smash, stomp and kill. He won't accept any substitutions nor does he see a point in denying him what he wants.

Also for the beast... you must consider that he was the most successful during a time that the IOM was at it's strongest... considering Ghazzy's whole plan on Armageddon was that the IOM is too big for it's own good and can't possible fight them everywhere at once it's simply a matter of applying a strong waaagh in key locations since Armageddon is still a intense battlezone to protect the IOM from the constant reinforcements orks receive. Ghazyy just might actually prove to be a smarter warboss than The Beast who ruled through sheer strength which isn't how the Orks win. They win by making them interested in fighting, It's a cliche but Ghazzy might do what all orks dream of.

Undoing da humies once and fer all. Much to the Gardener comment made earlier, they can sense it's time for it to fall. Will they do anything once they blast the IOM back to the stoneage, take all their loot and have a nasty trophy from the golden throne? Nah probably not... just saying the orks would have their hands full but it is something according to fluff they could "DO" but more than likely "Won't"

Orks don't want to control the Galaxy, because Orks want to kill everything in it. There will be nothing to control in the end. Just a bunch of Orks and good brawls. For Orks the great struggle is won, they were made to fight and win, and they will win, its just a matter of time.

Is the 4th Ed codex the latest!!! If not, it also says that in the 5th Ed.

The Blood Prince's world in the Eye of Terror IIRC.

The Warboss in charge was Tuska.

And yes, that's the 4th Ed codex. Orks haven't had a new codex in a while.

Not saying a new codex wouldn't be nice, but I don't think we really NEED another codex. The Ork Codex has survived two editions and is still a great book. Even in sixth edition we can be competitive! If we get a new codex, that could all change (for better or for worse)... Why fix what 'aint broke?

Anyways. If the orks really wanted to then yes. But since the only orks that ever REALLY try to rule the galaxy are warbosses then no. The regular boy has two things on his mind pretty much the whole time. FIGHT AND WIN!! If all the orks in the galaxy joined togther and they ALL wanted to rule the galaxy then yes. But they dont. They like it where its at.

If the eldar sent several ork *WAAAGHS* to the EOT then Gork and Mork might appear and destroy the whole sector. Then they would do something kool and destroy the eldar who sent the orks there.

Ohhh the octarius sector, everytime I think about that area of space I get a chill down my spine. How I wish I could see it. the Trillions of orks ships fightin the Trillions of Nid flyin monstosities. The gazooks of orks and Nids bitin, slashin and chopin at each other. God I am so jealous. I wish Games workshop made a movie on it. It is soooo epic sounding. Really orks are pourin in from other nearby sectors. The nids are winning Just cause (Imho) cause the Swarmlord has entered the system. If Gazhkull ever dropped in for a visit then the tide would changes. More orks and better tactics and ships. In the end its up to gw. better make it good. I really want a movie
