I think people are looking at two wildly incompatible scenarios of "conquering."

1. The Orks unite under a single ded'ard boss (Ghazghkull being the best candidate in millennia) and form an unstoppable force. Everything they face falls before their matchless strength. The question here is whether they can conquer everything before falling into infighting. The Orkish psychology points to a very low chance of this succeeding.

2. Orks continue their current path of infighting and accomplishing very little apart from random vandalism and bloodshed in various smaller theaters. Meanwhile, the accelerating decline of every other galactic civilization continues. The advantage Orks have over other species is that their society is self-sufficient and sustainable over the long term. Even without uniting, the sheer number of Orks gives them the best chance of outlasting every horrible thing going on in the galaxy. They're also the only race with a prayer of success against the Tyranid invasion, between their sheer numbers, their tendency to grow stronger through battle (think of that one planet where the Tyranids and Orks have been beating on each other for decades and both sides are terrifyingly hard to kill at this point), and their technical "innovashun" giving them a chance (slim though it may be) to develop an actually effective anti-Tyranid superweapon.

Basically, by the year 50000 I see one of two possibilities:

1. Nids eat everything

2. Nids have been beaten back, but the ongoing Chaos conflict has reduced humanity to a few dwindling pockets, Tau have been wiped out due to possessing a fraction of the power of other galactic players, Eldar are even more scarce, fragmented, and insular...and Orks are just carrying on the way they always have.

Orks don't have substantial forces in the Eye of Terror or Segmentum Solar, two of the most valuable places in the galaxy. The Eye of Terror has hypothetically infinite resources, provided the warp is in a calm mood. Yeah, they have some Orks there, but they're outnumbered by humans and daemons and all that stuff. Also, they have little presence in the Tau Empire, and they generally find themselves exterminated on Necron Tomb Worlds. Even the map you linked reveal that they've barely colonized the Eastern fringe at all.

To say the Orks have conquered the galaxy is blatant fan spank, almost as bad as the stuff Brother Coa used to post. Considering how intelligent you seemed if the Offtopic section, I'm dissappointed in you Melissa. You should know better than to make canonical errors regarding the population of a fictional race in a fictional universe that was made by ripping off several other fictional universes. This is serious business.

Spoiler:
The smiley face is to show that I'm not a lighthearted mood, and I'm not actually mad or sad or anything. I've learned that on the Interwebz, sometimes I sound very angry even when I'm cool as the other side of the pillow.

lol please stop nit picking, we are everywheree we just choose not to take it and keep it.

Not at all, Orks loot all sorts of things and have ample ability to get to space and attack en masse. Communication isn't as limited as you would think cause most orks desire the same thing, a good fight so they all kinda like a roving herd look for the nearest fight and go there. Waaaghs have inter galatic portals (Wazdakka), Teleportas (Ghazghull & freebooters), Auspexs (Da SCANAHS!), anything that is lost in battle, accidents or just abandoned orks that orbit planets or just searching for more hulks to rebuild easily have ways to get where they need to.

Their only complications is really just getting the momentum to start once they start a killing ground though... it's progress on the fast track. So a tribe of savage orks might have some complications getting into space but most orks are fortunate enough to be have Big Meks born to their tribes who lead in communications & Technology. Really only the Snakebite klan have a small number of meks and they aren't well respected due to the mentalities of the klan. Orks also do communicate via Weirdboyz but only if those boyz already knew each other ... and normally the more weirdboyz you get together the sooner someone's head is going to explode

As far as organization ... not the way the orks would do it. More screaming ... really scary screaming which frightens subordinates which then makes sure they make their boyz do things to make the Boss Happy, and those boyz do things to make them happy and so on until Success. Again, orks aren't going to conquer ever... we are much more likely to leave it in ruins and then kill ourselves.

So what we're really concluding is that no, the Orks will never conquer the galaxy. They'll run back and forth over the galaxy killing everything in sight, but the Ork race as a whole just isn't suited to doing what the IoM or Eldar or Necrons did, which is take a lot of land and hold it (properly) for long periods of time. Not that there's anything wrong with this, of course.

I think they could, as soon as they get any sort of a foothold on a planet you can only get rid of them via either tyranids eating the planet or the imperium destroying it. It would be quicker if they did unite but a slow war of attrition will win

we have a foothold on plenty of planets... we've caused massive IG evacuations from space and burned entire worlds. That being said we again, won't control the universe we will just smash and break it.
