Hey Guys,

I'm shopping for a Space Battle Mat for Battlefleet Gothic and X-Wing. Any suggestions, comments, actual first hand eyewitness pics would be highly appreciated! Thanks!

Deep space and enhanced deep space mats are nice. Customize them with extra colors and grids. My friend has a green field mat and it's very nice. They hold up well for felt mats.

Thanks, that space mat looks pretty good. Are they trustworthy? Did your friend have any problems ordering?

I got one of those plus a desert/Western town mat from Hotz - they are both very good and recommended.

Ordering is pretty easy - the website is fairly straightforward. The Western Mat took a couple of weeks to arrive but I ordered over Xmas so wasn't particularly fussed; the Space Mat arrived super quick, bearing in mind the guy is Canada (I think) so shipping to the UK can sometimes be very slow.

Ive heard/seen many good things about Hotz Matz on several gaming forums. I havent had a chance to pick up any yet, but when I get around to picking up a mat they will be my choice.

I've been meaning to get a hex-gridded Hotz mat for a long time. I know a while back (1 year maybe?) there were some complaints about extra long shipping or processing times, but the owner might have improved the turnaround by now.
Either way it seems like the kind of thing you buy once and use for years.

As X-Wing doesn't use a grid, your cheapest option would be to get a yard of heavy black felt from a fabric store and fleck white paint onto it to make stars. Will run you $5 or so.

Here is an inexpensive solution I stumbled upon. Waiting on delivery of mine. I'll post some photos when it arrives.
