Hi everyone, you won't believe the day I'm having. Just my luck I'm trapped in my dorm's elevator and help's going to be awhile. No one is answering my calls so I'm reaching out to dakka to know I'm not alone. Please respond I've got no one in here with me and no one outside to talk to. Just need some moral support right now.

EDIT: I didn't call the fire department, I was on the first floor and the resident adviser called maintenance after having a laugh at my expense. when I said I had no one outside to talk to I meant the RA wouldn't talk to me other than laughing at me.

Sucks when it's you but the question is before you got trapped would you laugh at someone who was?

Anyway it makes a good story does it not?
Glad your out though couldn't imagine being stuck in a small box for hours on end.

I it wasn't that much effort, just go into my camera on my iPhone and took a few shots. Then when I was typing the response a big burly maintenance guy pried the doors open and got me out. So I didn't type the other post until I got back to my room.

Haven't you seen Die Hard? Strip down to your vest, pop open the access panel in the roof, climb out and go crawling though the ventilation system.

I don't like them the stairs is more healthy, but nothing short of a pneumatic cutter is breaking that wire, and then the safety ones assuming its not a piston pushing it up.

What I want to know now is how did they rescue you, getting you to the right floor or climbing through the vent in the top and hoisting you out.

the building proper here has no ventilation system, it's all by individual dorm rooms, but my time in the elevator did give me a bit of an epiphany about my 40k army: I'm going back to my army I did way back when. My IG army representing a rogue trader's armsmen, and now with the allies rules I can include an inquisitorial warband as the rogue trader's motley entourage.
