Wow... those are some really awesome deathwing Terminators. The bases are cool as well. I just got my 'Dark Vengeance' box and have no idea what too paint them as, my current Shadow Legion colour scheme or a new one.

The assault cannon casing and chain fist shroud should be a different color than the armor, red would be preferred since it is the color you painted the storm bolters.
The battle damage is not "dramatic" enough, it doesn't have to be overdone but a little more would help. Right now it just looks like the paint was scratched off by accident, it doesn't convey the sense of wear & tear.
Fluff-wise, the Aquila on their chests should be green, not gold.
There needs to be more definition between the armor plates. In the in the few places where shadows are visible, the shading is too light and is lost in the overall brightness of the model. Making it a bit more stark will up the contrast and bring out the strong lines of the Terminator armor.
There are also a details that were flat out missed; a rope cord under the belt buckle of the assault cannon termie, the lenses on the targeter above their helmets, the cords connecting their greaves and boots, and the lenses of the bolter scope. There also seems to be a lack of highlights throughout all the models.

I gotta say I sort of agree with Scooty. When looking at it there are some things that really pop and are done well. The sergents sword for instance is head and shoulders better then everything else.
They look incredibly rushed to me with zero definition. Most of it looks just primed or barely base coated. There is also no contrast in any of the colours. Having silver that looks like it was done over white with no washes on the wings means it just blends into the white and is completely missed. The rest is all just white, on white on white with a handful of incredibly muted colours that also get lost.
Its a nice start for the squad but if that is how they were delivered to the client I would be pretty dissapointed if it was me receiving the models. Sorry to sound kind of harsh with the comments its just you can tell that you can do significantly better then this if you put any amount of time in. With some shading, high lighting and consistency in the paint scheme this squad could probably look excellent.

The Assault Cannons and Chainfists have always been of a similar or the same color to the main body in what I've seen, so I don't see that as an issue. The aquilla is a technicality, but it looks fine. The rope cord on the assault cannon guy does look hit, its just also white, but it is a little different shade. The eyes and lenses on the camera things seem like they're supposed to be metallic here, and the cord connecting the greave to the boot I can't even see

You have seen wrong, my friend. That image is straight from GW and it shows both the assault cannon and chain fist different colors. Does every person need to copy the studio scheme? No, of course not, but it looks better if the weapons are a different color than the armor. That cord isn't a "different shade of white"... It is he exact same color as the armor, which says to me it was missed. Lenses should be painted as such, have you seen a video camera with a metal lense? I haven't. The cord on the boot is the same one that is on lots of standard Space Marine power armor models. Look at the feet of the assault cannon termie. See the big white bulge on the boot? That is a power cable.
This work is labeled as a commission and should be thusly critiqued as one. Someone paid money to have this painted and, frankly, if it was me I would not be satisfied based on the things I pointed out. Not to mention, they seem white and not bone, the color of the Deathwing.

I can see your point about the cannon/fist thing, I meant that in my area, we mostly paint them the same. And if you look very closely at it you can tell that the cords are in fact slightly different. Now that you pointed out the power cable I can see that it looks a bit off. The lenses really don't strike me as wrong, but I guess thats just opinion. The color scheme I just assumed was requested as white and not bone

It's not all the all the cords, just the one right under the belt buckle but above all the little daggers on the assault cannon termie. All the other cords are brown, this one is clearly white. It maybe seem slightly different but only because it is in a shadow.

Colours are a choice thing and as Gargantuan has proved, the fluff colours have wiggle room.
Lenses don't have to be coloured either, it's just that most do for contrast. Actual lenses look black or silver generally.
My criticism is that the two rolled scrolls on the front of the sergeant have been painted bronze rather than parchment coloured and that the cord holding them to the belt hasn't been painted. I also feel that for the sake of contrast, the feathers should be a stronger colour, even if that just means a darker, more black look to them.

The lack of details does really bring them down, especially since it's commission.
Personally I think the Deathwing Studio scheme is ugly, but somehow this scheme also kinda falls flat.
I really like RAFF's Deathwing scheme for what it's worth:

I'm with you. I personally don't care for the studio colors myself and I paint mine differently as well. My original point was never about whether or not the OP followed the studio scheme, just the fact that there were a lot of things that need to be improved.
I also agree with some other posters; there is definitely stuff on those models that is well done (the power sword is awesome and the OSL is nice too) but it is the lack of the other items that have been mentioned that bring down the overall quality of the models.
As far as lenses go, of course they aren't nearly as stylized in real life as they are on models, but it only takes a minute to put a dab of color on them just to bring out a little detail.

I'll correct the mistakes and think about giving the models an oil wash to help define the armour a little more.

I am with you on your scheme. Personally, I like a very light off-white or plain white. It's from the classic art. Plus they are bone WHITE not bone tan haha. I agree that maybe the casing of the Assault cannon should be a different color. It will draw the eye to the gun and make him look a little more awesome. I personally like your bone chest aquila (i paint mine that way as well).
My DW are white, with bone aquila, green casings and fists, and then with silver bracing colors. And some gold highlight on the more ornate bits. I never liked the green chest eagles etc.
I think yours looks excellent, but maybe a tiny tiny bit of shading would help give some contrast.
These are my repainted terminators (i realize they aren't that great) but the scheme is alternative and white and I think they look good.

You did a really good job on the eye on the glove with the Hellbrute. The face I am not a fan of though. I feel like your wasting a great oppertunity to really show off some great modeling details (and painting skills) by going the OSL route on it. OSL is great, but not great on everything. The skin looks a little flat to me as well. It might be the camera. I do like how you did the horns on him but maybe try a browner color at the bottom of the horn?

Feedback Time!
First, sorry for the poor English in the first post, i was in a rush :/
Personally i think the Deathwing are really good.. there is no correct way to paint them and, not meaning any disrespect, but those of you who have criticised these figures need to cool down a bit. First off in my mind you shouldn't criticise if it's just down to your personal preference, especially if you are lacking in painting skills.. that is one of the reason's i stopped posting on here, people kept trying to get me to do this, that and the other!
Anywho, onto the minis: the terminators are really nice as I said. I think I might go for a similar scheme with mine. I can see what people are saying about the details, a few extra highlights here and there should sort that and bring out a bir of contrast of them. You could consider a dark blue or purple glaze over the whole model with oils or acrylics thinned acrylic thinner, this would really emphasise the details without detracting from the bright feel. though i'd make sure it's really is thin!
The Hellbrute looks absolutely FAB! really liking the feel of the piece! The OSL and shading are crisp, neat and absolutely spot on. i particularly like the detail shot of the claw/fist, there's some really nice detailing there!
here's my current WIP if you're interested
all the best.

I just relooked at the brute again. I just noticed ALL the eyes on him are done like the one on the glove. Very nice! I also took another look at the horns colors and they make sense to me now that I relook at them versus the entire color scheme of the model. Overall it is a good job. As someone semi mentioned one person might like something and another person may not. What matters is does it look good and feel natural.
The terminators look really cool and simple- sometimes more is less. They have a serrein feel to them. If people had not mentioned the "missed" spots I would have never even questioned it... But you know what? We all miss a spot or two and that's why some people post. This gives a wider audience a chance to see if something needs to be hit or changed. You can see a lot in a pic that the eye does not.
Overall I am happy with the turnout of the models and it is nice to have a new look to the death wing terms. I think your client will be happy.
