Ive been thinking of offloading all but a select few of my GW minis. I just dont picture using them anytime in the near future. Ill probably box them and put em in a closet just in case. Ill keep the better done ones out for display. My attention lately has been on modeling and less involved games. Im looking forward to Mantics new board game coming out for example.


On a tank related note...still no Sabre. Was told it would ship early last week and I d have it by the weekend. At about 40 days and counting now.

if i had already painted them i probably couldn´t think about parting with them...but they look mostly ugly or bascoated... so no real attachment there...

Mad4, I wonder how long the post system is going to take, if it shipped out, you should have gotten a letter number code to put into the USPS mail tracker. If shipped by boat, it could take time, less if they ship by airmail.

I dont know how it was shipped, if it has been yet. Ill give it until the end of the week and email him again. He said it was going out early last week, and Id have it by the weekend, so id assume by air w about 5 days travel time. However, he is backlogged and it may have been delayed again.

Hmmm, when you do, ask for a postal tracking code if the Brits use one.

Meanwhile, I got a couple of back-packs to add to the tank, now for the Gauze(cammo-netting).

Plenty of ink washing to absorb some color, before rolling! I have nice devlan mud and Thrakka green!

you soak it before in that expensive stuff? holy...to be honest i woudl have used tea or coffey

But the Thrakka green is not a color to be found in tea or coffee.

thank the heavens!...but you could cook some grass with the gauze...for best results i would then recommend giving a bit of salt to the cooking mix to fixture the painting substances...to the gauze...

But hat is what the paint is for, the wash is just to help prime the gauze, then paint, thinned with water, to fix more colors into the gauze, then rolled up, lashed with putty straps, and hooked to the tank!

with paint i think i am a bit of a scrooge...

That is why putting some with water is the way to go as well, I will show you the effects, look how well the "surgery" worked on that beast!

Okay, as you know by now, I work pretty fast and have to take pics the day i work on the stuff or I lose any chance to record it. Here is how well the camo netting went, the pics are the start.

then i saw them...nice idea and well pulled off...those hooks...

the camo netting looks promising...and i now understand why you did it with paint instead as the methods i sugested...

Now, the cool thing is that due to the hooks, the netting can be removed for the tank to be painted and detailed/decaled.^^

the flow of the netting is really goodlooking, the straps will after a bit of work on them look really convincing...i am a bit unsure about the texture of the netting...it is a big thick to my eye...maybe if you add some leaves like from tea or hebs for cooking you could add a look like:

by the way sinc your camo scheme is blue, gray, green and black, i think the netting should have all matching colours...also the green isn´t really a color match with the one on the tank... this will probably the hardest part as the eye sees the mismatch imidiatly...

hope i am not a partypooper here...

nevertheless i see a good base for a cool feature...

I was figuring the difference being for the trees it will hide in to snipe enemy tanks from. I like the teas leaf concept, I have some loos tea and may make some glued on for texture effects.

yep! this will look cool...and as with the green then you can get away with lots of different colors as the structure of the tea looses up the colors a treat...thats waht camo is for anyways^^
