As Vik had suggested, I glued on some Tea grinds tot he camo nets, black and green teas respectively.

Thanks! I simply did find that the idea you gave me would work well enough.

just loaded glue and poured the contents of the different tea bags I opened onto the glued spots. Easy stuff!

I havent done anything in awhile now. Things have been a bit unsettled, birthdays, sick kids, pet problems, etc. Hopefully better in a few days, then I can get back to modeling.

The Glaug pod model is terrible, needs lots of fill work. Its partially assembled, Ill be saving that for some other time to finish, when I have more patience.

My Sabre shipped sometime last week, should have it any time now. Im really looking forward to it.

What is it with people painting things that are already the right color and texture? I mean, I can understand when you have ONE part on a model that's made of metal, and it's supposed to look like metal, when you spray or basecoat it. But you've already painted the rest of your model, and the Tea Leaves are meant to represent folliage, yes? So why in the world would you need to take the green and grey leaves, and paint them green and grey?

to keep it in "scheme"... natural colored parts in tabletop look off, compared to the painted parts it is just not feeling right....
went that road about a million times and it alwyas sucked...

Mad4Minis: Good to hear, I am supposed to have mine shipping mid month this month.

Anvildude: When I was in the army, the "foliage" of the cammo nets were actually colored plastic cut for texture and pretty much painted the way they wanted. The tea-leaves are for texture, but I may also leave them as is as they do have a more "natural" look to them.

i´d go for the painted look, manufactured out of rubbery plastic...odd to the touch and gets dusty so fast.... i remember rolling camonetting on the forset floor... urgh.... like dusting the ground in the woods....camo is one hell of an ugly feature of military life... something i have quite vivide memories on^^

Thanks vik! I will, and while I touch up the cotton parts with the right washes, I will have painted the "texture" with close to but slightly off colors for that extra bit of odd rubbery color of the old camo nets.

I remember how those things would become dusty and then cover us in that same dust!

hmmmm.... those were the yucky days^^

Hmmm, I just tend to make the tanks look like they went through the watery, puddles, he has the same kid of approach all the way to thick, sticky mud . While my tanks look dirty, his look like they are still in the muck!

Im gonna blow so much money next month its scary. Preorders for the Dreamforge Leviathans should be open, new Grey Knight terminators from GW will be out, plus some bits to convert them with. Ill have my Sabre any time now, so after vacation at the end of the month Ill need some bits to customize that.

the pics did all for one do some serious justice to your acelooking camonetting...all thumbs up for these!

i think your cloth on the barrels needs lots of washes as it still looks a bit too falt to my eyes...

the camopattern looks as good as usual...which means really cool^^

one thing tho: the hatch of the tankcommander looks a bit as if he is about to get his back ached all over....

also the details gained through the backpacks on the turret looks realy nice!
