And the "never planned to do it in the first place" argument is bunk as well. From never intended to release Demon's Souls internationally either, and look how good that was.

How big is From, though? Could've been totally different teams. I don't know.

Also, there is a big difference between supporting different languages and completely reconfiguring something for a different platform.

The thing is, From may not be a big developer, but Bandai Namco is. And it was Bandai Namco that authorized the port in the first place.

Of course, this isn't entirely surprising. Bamco has a history of letting down both their developers and consumers. Hell, look at from. The support for Dark Souls' patches was pretty abysmal, and don't even get me started on Armored Core 5.

As much of a hard core Armored Core fan that I am, Bamco killed AC5 in the west, and maybe the entire series.

Oh, and just because I feel it applies to the topic at hand, here's a paper I wrote on Dark Souls and what I believe to be its most important element: Atmosphere.

It's a bit on the long side, but it's a solid read.

Oooh, reads. Will have to look into that when I'm done ripping Fatty and Slim a new one.

Am I supposed to be keeping you guys up to date with all the info released, or would you rather I didn't spoil it?

Well written, Fafnir.

Need to get my groove back in this game for the expansion though.

That was rather well written, yes. If I would have added anything to it, I would have noted that most of the time, the player is scraping by the skin of their teeth.

Why, just in my Fatty and Slim fight, I got down to my last fireball, barely had a sliver of health left, and managed to kill Super Slim as he was about to jump in the air (to do his Lightning AoE butt bounce). I was too close to roll out of the way, had too low health to block it, and my Claymore was +2 Lightning, so if that Fireball hadn't have landed.....

From my PC.

It begins anew!

It looks "ok" on my screen, obviously a bit stretched due to the fixed resolution, but it's ok.

For everyone playing the PC version, you may just want to check this out...

It's funny how it only took 23 minutes after release for a single PC gamer to fix this, and yet the guys porting the actual game couldn't figure it out at all.

I'm installing the game right now, can't wait to jump on in glorious HD.
