Hey, does anyone have the Holy Great Sword of Artorias that I can get from them? I traded my Soul for some major help early on, and was just wondering if I could get it from one of you guys.
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

"Connecting with friends: Connecting with friends is difficult in Demon's Souls as you cannot invite someone from your friends list. They have to put their soul sign down and hope not to get summoned by anyone else before you can reach them. In Dark Souls it is much more difficult than in the previous game. The servers on dark souls are peer to peer, and thus, you can play with anyone, anywhere. The downside of this, however, is that it is extremely difficult for people, no matter how close they live to each other, to play with the same people over and over again. Understand that this is not particularly a bad thing, and was actually intentional to make the playthroughs individually interesting every single time. To make an attempt to join another player, one of you must be alive, and the other dead. The dead must place his soul sign in a specific place, usually a low traffic, hidden area, and assuming the sign actually shows up, must be the first person to do the summon. Considering the game is peer to peer, the chance you'll be the only ones doing this are drastically slim.(In some cases like for me its very simple Just fall within the level range of your friend I've even play in pvp ith my buddy that was level 101 and i was 86)"
I guess on the PC you'll be able to invite them, whereas you can not on the consoles. Not that I'm complaining, as I felt that the multiplayer was great once they fixed it.

Epic Name Bro does a good job with deciphering the lore, even if there are things I disagree with him on. I do agree with most of what he puts a connection on in this (Warning, NSFW: Language)

I never played Demon's Souls, but the bosses were a whole heck of a lot better in it (Thanks to Youtube) than Dark Souls.
So I decided enough with my Artorias Build, and am instead working on a STR/FTH Fatty. I'm liking him so far, being mostly Regen based. Also, going to have to join the Princess Guard, which may make me the only member of that covenent.

See, there are things I disagree with him on.
1) Gaping Dragon is a mutant, not a de-evolved dragon over a long time with no food.
2) Havel's Rebellion wasn't necessarily a failure. The gods are missing, but we don't know why they are missing. Could be Havel and company decided to kill a fair few of them.

Eh... varies from boss to boss. Flamelurker, Penetrator, and False King Allant are great. Dragon God is far better than Bed of Chaos. Other than that, it's not quite as distant as you make it seem. Stormlord is really cool the first time around, but easy and lame every time after that, Adjudicator is boring as hell, and with the exception of GARL melon-fething VINLAND, the bosses in the Valley aren't anything special.

Regen builds work pretty well in Demon's Souls, but not in Dark Souls. That said, some of the miracles are pretty badass. Namely Wrath of God. If you really want to go Str/Fai, try building around Gram. It's a solid weapon, especially since you can cast WoG without having to switch to a talisman.

Actually, I believe the developers confirmed that Gaping Dragon was a normal dragon who went insane for one reason or another. Possibly from being locked down there for so long.

Really? Well shoot..... I don't think I can ever think of the dragons as "Scary" again.....
And I haven't had any problems with My regen build so far. The Butcher Knife and Replenishment, along with Ring of the Evil Eye have given me almost all of the regen I need, and I still have to get Sanctus. Though this is on NG.

Flamelurker was fun, Old Hero was fun, Penetrator was kinda easy, Tower Knight was sick, DG was waaaaaaaaaaaay better than BoC, and a few others were pretty cool. A lot of them were pushovers, though. Garl Vinland was super easy for me, just equip a giant twohander and smash that poor fool.

I doubt any boss would be hard after the 20th time you've killed him
But look at the variety. You had Stormlord for gimmicky, Dragon God for "Oh crap there is no way I'm going to fight this thing one on one", Flamelurker for shear powerhouse (Exploding fists for the win). You even had a boss where you had to sit in the light and hope to the Old One that it didn't spot you. With Dark Souls, all we have is run forward and pound on them. Even Ceaseless Discharge, the biggest boss in the game, you break his finger to kill him. And that's the "Legit" way.....

My Regen build isn't work out, as you said it wouldn't. Go ahead and sing the "I was Right Song". So I was trying to figure out how to make a Pyromancer build, and completely forgot about Elemental Weapons XD
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.
Pyromancy doesn't really need a build. Anyone with an extra weapon slot and a spell slot or two can use it effectively.
Of course, you could just vit gouge, but that's boring.
And the thing about regen builds in Demon's Souls was that you could stack it to be ridiculously high. Blessed weapons, combined with the adjudicator shield and regeneration ring made it so your health regened really quickly. You could outlast someone and watch them munch on all their grass pretty easily. It's much slower in Dark Souls, and everything tends to hit quite a bit harder, so not only are the effects of regen diminished, but it has to do a lot more work. It's just not very good anymore.

I'm trying to be more of a Pyromancer from the Great Swamp. Probably going to use the starter armor, thinking of the Large Club. Who knows, there is supposed to be some sort of Fire Sheild Pyromancy in the DLC where it burns everyone around you, so there might be a few more other than that.

Fafnir wrote:Large club is my favourite weapon. It may not be the most user-friendly thing in the world, but boy is it fun.
The one-handed R2 attack is amazing, and quite deceptive. The 2 handed moveset is lacking though.
Got my STR to 26, but they won't drop it :(
What system are you guys on? It might be fun to get three of us together and run through the game together. We would probably have to cap ourselves at SL 20 or such to keep it challenging, though.

Controller, obviously. I use a PS3 controller with my PC all the time. I could see it working decently with KB&M too, but controller would obviously be the preferred tool.
The quality of the port rests on the technical aspects. Why they're locking the game at an incredibly low resolution is beyond me. We're not getting basic options that have been the standard since 1993. It's beyond lazy, really.
No, Ninja Blade was the first game From has put on the PC.
And the "never planned to do it in the first place" argument is bunk as well. From never intended to release Demon's Souls internationally either, and look how good that was.
