So I have this character Katia in my IG + GK army who's a female sniper. I just don't know how to model her yet. I saw an awesome female Vindicare assassin from 2006, but I can't tell exactly what parts were used. If anyone has any ideas of how to make her I'd be really appreciative.

Pictures perhaps?!? The only assassin that pops to mind real quick would be the Callidus assassin. Id imagine itd be easier to just GS something into a female, or find a suitable mini that is a female and go from there

EDIT: the head is clearly a wood elf, and I can change the arms, but the legs and body are what are stumping me. anyone know what legs and body that is?

Legs are likely Eldar or custom. About the only good legs GW do are for the Eldar (and they are really uni-sex...so...).

Chest looks to be wood elf - the waist is sort of a give away on that.

If you aren't married to the GW parts and all that - you also have the Viridian Sniper Veteran:

I used a mixture of the Eldar Guardian legs and a female Dark Eldar torso. It gives you a nice hi-tech armoured skin-suit look. I also used one of the Hasslefree blank female heads, but you could easily use an eldar/elvish head with trimmed ears.

well I play at a GW store so yes you could say that, but that is a nice mini.
EDIT: @ Flinty: that could work, plus I've got some of those laying around.

There's also the female tank hunters from the dreamforge kickstarter. This shows the male and female comparison, with both being similar scale to GW models.

The sniper / ninja from the infinity range can also be a nice start.

Quite respectable conversion kit. Gives a womanly shape without going totally overboard. Compatible with Cadian kits which you can apply additional parts to depending on how subtle the difference you want to be between her and her male counterparts. I found they also work very well with Forge World respirator heads and arms, actually a little better then normal Cadian parts as the FW versions are a tad small then the standard plastic parts.

The thing I really like is how well these blend with the rest of the GW models when painted. A casual observer might miss the female parts until they go down to table height to check LOS, then BAM womenfolk.

Insaniak's female vindicare used an old DARK ELDAR legs and right (rifle) arm (the 3rd ed range of DE that nobody with any taste liked), wood elf bits, SM scout bits (rifle) and I'm not sure where the torso came from.

You could easily do it with current ones (DE) or even current Craftworld Eldar guardians for the body/arms/legs.

The torso, head and left arm are all wood elf bits.

Maybe use a female wood/high elf head. Make sure the whole minature is one of a female, or you'll end up with a female head stuck onto a male's body.

That ninja one is the best I've seen in this thread so far IMHO, but I would the redshirts get funny about it?

If i every get my allied Grey Knights up, Im taking that idea insaniak.
But i have a question, IS she an assasin, or a regular sniper?

She's kitted up as a Vindicare. You could use the same basic design to create any of the other assassin types, though, although the Culexis would need some build-work on the head.
