So, earlier my mum asked me and my little brother to start thinking of christmas lists, and given me a budget of £100 give or take. So, I am down to the fianl touches, but can't decide on whether or not to get Angron. I can't afford the HH book, so he would either have to be a display model, which I would nopt like as I ave nowhere to display him, or a counts as. So, seeing as every Chaos Players is going ton have to have Dps, even if they don't use them, incase of rolling a 65/66 on the Boon Table, I was thinking I could use him as a Daemon Prince. What is the general consensus on this? Is it a close-enough proxy, or not? Or a grave injustice to the first ever Primarch and wait for the Betrayal book?

Secondly, if I were to purchase him, what kind of shipping costs am I looking at? Firstly for Angron @ £50, and secondly of Chainaxes @ £9? FW don't have anything on the website like GW do so I can't tell.

Yeh, do it. It's close enough to be proxy. Remember the rule of cool. And thats a pretty cool model to have on the table.

As for shipping cost from FW, I'm sure it's 12% but I'd need to check.

Yeh, 12% if you're in the UK. Free on orders over £250, but who's got 250quid?

Yeah - he turned into a Daemon anyway, so why not? And it is a cool figure and will be on my Christmas list too!

Yeah, the rule of cool is definetly the thing to look in this situation. Say you proxy him as a Daemon Prince:

You: "Hey, look at that, I rolled 65 on the Chaos Boon Table!"
Opponent: "Ah, well that sucks. Now I have a Daemon Prince to deal with."
You: *reaches down to case* "Well, I don't exactly have a Daemon Prince model..."
Opponent: "Haha, you can't replace him then, you need to have the model, so I can't allow y- OMG THAT'S ANGRON. HOLY COW, USE HIM AS A DAEMON PRINCE. IT'S SO COOL!"

And you can also proxy him as a Kharn as well. I'm not sure how well magnetizing works on resin (the same, I'd guess) but you can magnetize one of his axes and get a Bolt Pistol arm magnetized for use as when you're using him as Kharn.

A little big don't you think? Besides, I have no real need for Kharn right now as my force is only a fledgling army (by Xmas will be Dark Vengeance, 10 Chaos Marines and 5 Terminators). I'm running my Lord with Daemonweapon, MoK, Plasma Pistol, VotLW and Gift of Mutation and Sigil of Corruption (provided he can take that of course). So he is plenty of beatstick alone, can unlock berserkers as troops and looks amazing while doing it. Kharn sucks, as a sculpt.


Although, thinking about it I may leave Angron till later, as only having 4 characters would give me a 0.05% chance of Daemonhood, provided they win the Challenge of course.



I dunno, maybe I'll just pick up CSM and Chainaxes and run them as Zerkers.
