Now that I have your attention.... I have been painting more and more lately and since it seems that as I paint more and more my skills get more and more average (an improvement from poor) people have asked me to paint models for them. This one was for one of my wife's co-workers. The model is a reaper model. It is called "Female Victim on Spit." I think that just about sums it up. He requested she be fair skinned, blond and have nipples. I did those things. I'm very happy with how that hair came out. The skin does have some ogryn flesh wash in the recesses, but I watered it down so not to make her un-fair skinned and I don't really think you can see it at all in the pic. Took about 2 hours and I made $10 to buy some more paints.

I will post some more soon and hopefully this gets me taking more pics of my work and hopefully someone like it enough to comment, because honestly I spend at least half my work day browsing PM blogs.....*sssshhhhhh, don't tell my office," and I feel lazy not putting anything of my own out there in return.

Finished Up a comission for afriend of mine. I generally chage an extra $2 for basing, so when you see finished work without textured or elaborite bases, it's because a lot of people I paint for don't care about them at all.




Theu wen't a fan of his bosspole or whatever it was cominh off his back, so a little greenstuff and away it went.

Took some time and did a big project over the weekend. Inspired by the Lava field tutorial here on Dakka I made my own lava board so me and my pals have a place to play our wargames.













This was time consuming, and more expensive than it needed to be. Whole thing cost me about $84 and I could;d have cut that by about $20 if I have more info going in, I used 2 inch think pink foam which was double the price of the 1 inch and I figued out as I was going that the 1 inch not only would have worked, but may even have made a lot of it easier and quicker. Least I know now.

I'm painting an entire Tau army to table quality with no basing and doing my own custom Blood Angels Successor chapter so hopefully I will have some updates soon.

My wife let me pick up Dark Vengence over the weekend. Got it all built and painted up my first model from it. I have an old Blood Angels Successor chapter, with a mix of Blood Angel and Dark Angel markings, so they fit in great.







Really happy with how the sword came out.

I had an old Tyranofex I was working on. It origionally had 4 monsterous scything talons for legs. Then I got a flying Tyrant kit and ued the extra legs to make him look a bit more like the rest of the tyranids. I'm just not a fan of the look of the Tyranofex kit model. Like the Termagant fine though.





Took a Black Reach marine I had and decided o mess him up. A big monster like this needs a victim.Tried to go for some entrails he's trying to get back inside. Made an ungloved hand from a fantasy bit.

Just started work on some Chaos Space Marines. I have had some bits sitting around for about a year, and have been holding out for a new codex before building. Trying to make enought out of what I have to avoid a lot of buying.

]Kitbashed some Raptor count-as ,models. I really wanted to go with a demonic birds of prey thing for the raptors. I used a lot of Possessed kit bits and some assorted bits lying around with some leftover space marine packs. Liked the wings for the squad Sargent (not sure what it's called in the new codex.)






I want to use these hands as lightning claws. I think it will be more clear when painted,









This guy.... I can't decide if I love him or hate him. He's supposed to be falling back and shooting, using the jump pack so as not to just fall over doing this, but I can't decide if it is good, or goofy, or it's goofy, but it works. Had to add some stuff to the base to keep the model from tipping over.

Finished the sorcerer. I'm not really going for a specific color scheme. I like the Emperors Children Scheme, so I was probably going to do a play off of that. I like Chaos for an oppertunity to use some less traditional colors and I think they will end up as a great way to prectice my painting.











I forgot to put a couple highlights on the green part of the sholder pad. Will have to go back and do that.

I had originally washed the face green, over the felsh tone, and it looked ok, but then I went back and put some more flesh over that, and it looked good as is. It's hard to see, but the green left near the nose and in some of the recessed parts of the face, still adds something to it overall.

That board looks pretty cool, and I like the Purple and blue combo on the chaos figs.

Thanks. I am actually providing the terrain for a gaming event at my local comic/gaming store this Sunday. If people like my stuff, the store will comission me to do some terrain for them. This board is what we will be playing on for Sunday, and I'll post some pics from the game.

With the Chaos, I'm not sure how to paint some things. I think the Chaos Space Marines (generic) will be Pink and Silver, the sorcerers/thousand sons with be the purple and blue and I have no clue on the Khorne Bezerkers. I was thinking red ornacge and yellow, to try and give them a lava inspired look, but I haven't done a test model yet.

I recently was asked what I would do if I was "given" and entire army. I joked saying I would create a Space Marine chapter called the "Space Bros." Playing off the fact that every maine is a masculine brother marine and drawling comparisons to frat brothers. I joked they would be fist bumping poses and some funny banners. I was given the Space Marine Megaforce to make this dream come true. While I wait for it to arrive in the mail, I took to converting the Space Bro's Librarian.

Converted from a chaos marine with lots of filing down and some greenstuff bits and the book is from a Relic Knights model.

Waiting on Space Marine Megaforce to show up before I start any new projects, Also getting a Swarmlord for my Tyranids. To counter all the incomming models, I did sell my Chaos Marines recently for a small profit. Unpainted, but I found somebody who liked the conversions and was convinced to let them go at a small profit, that saved me the time of painting everything. I kept the sorcerror I did though, since I liked it.

Put this guy together the other night. Kind of my "proof of concept" for my just for fun marine chapter, the Space Bros. The idea is to play of the joke of Space Marines being the galaxy's biggest meatheads, and in my mind if I couldn't model them to be fist bumping, then this army would never work.











In my mind, it's on now.

They will count as Salamanders, and I need some more Ideas for funny Bro banners. 1 for the ironclad dread, 2 for tactical sargents, the Chapter master will have a "Bros B4 Xenos banner, and I wanted to write something on the side of the Stormtalon. Any ideas?

I think something with a popped collar is in order for a Bro army.

I was looking at the chest pieces that have the raised collars for a tac sargent. Also, the 2 crouched legs from the Devastator/Honor guard kit will make a marine Teabagging a dead dark eldar.

Starting the Space Bros modeling process. I really wanted a x2 thunder hammer Chapter Master, and I had 2 hammers, but I wanted to get creative, so I "Darth Mauled" it.











I wanted a multi melta for the Tactical Squad heavy weapon. I don't have any and didn't want to buy a devastator squad or overpriced single bits to get one. I did see another PM blog with a neat MM conversion using 2 Meltas side-by-side They are shaved down to sit snug and then some greenstuff to cover the the slight gap in the middle of the created weapon. and I made my own. I think it works, since Salamamders melta weapons are custom anyway.





The tube from the gun to the pack is from a flammer for a vehicle. Just trimmed it to fit, and I'm really happy with the result. I want to try and make a second one that is as close to this as possible for the second tactical squad. Or they might have Falmmer and Heavy Bolter for anti-infantry.

Last is my Marine for the Great Marine Swap.



I am calling it a "Come at me Bro" pose. I think it's simple, but looks nice. The ax hand was cut off and rotated for this look.

Thoughts? Would you be ok if I brought this MM for a game? and I could still use some help with funny banner sayings.

If you really want to rock the "Bro" esthetic, you should use Catachan or Chaos Marauder arms - totally roided-out muscles.

Even better - when attached to a Marine torso, it looks like the Marine is wearing a tank-top... kinda sorta.

You should have your commander riding in (or on) a Camaro.

I looked into the bare arms idea. I found the Chaos Marauder Sheild arms on The War Store and they are posed to where they could hold a bolter fairly easily, but the pose would be uninspired. The Catchan arms may work better. I found Grenade throwing arms I like and the close combat weapon arms could be easily modded to be holding Whatever I wanted them to be.

I don't know about the Camaro...but you did give me the idea to do something like this:

I think somebody might ride the Stormtalon. I have a bunch of the chains from DE that hold the riders to their boards for Helions and the people holing on to the transports, so I think I may be able to make something with this.

I was working out the second Tactical squad, and was looking for some input. I was running one with a combi-melta sgt, a MM heavy and a Meltagun for the special, the other squad the heavy and special were up in the air. I was thinking it would be a squad with a flamer and a Heavy Bolter, but the heavy bolter seems out of place if I'm running as Salamanders. Thoughts?

Got some pics of the rest of my finished Tactical Squad and the Sgt for the second squad. I have been having a lot of fun working out the poses for the marines, and am trying to do very few without some sort of repositioning. In the first squad, only 2 have a generic Marine pose, and it 1 bolter marine and the Meltagun marine.

First is the mostly finished Marine for the Great Marine Swap. I just need to work on the weapon still. I am thinking of trying some OSL with it, but havent decided.






Based a lot of them on cork. Going for a desolated battlfield theme for the basing. Want it to look like they just thrashed some Dark Eldar. I thought female space elves seemed like the best enemies of the Space Bros.

I'm from MD and around hear, when I think of Bros, I think of Ravens Football fans, which partiall inspired my color choices for the army. Here is my Bro Frag Grenade QB. Had to go Beaky Helmet on this guy for additional Ravens tie-in.

Trying to figure out how the second Tactical squad withh be equipped, so I hope to work on them some more this week and I'll post pics when I get that work done.
