Bought a box of lootas but my dumbass didnt think about the weapons in the box.

Burnas, rokkits, and kustom mega blasters are horrid in comparison to deffguns, and it only gave me 2 lol.

So my question is, anyone built any deffguns either from scratch or from big shootas and got any pointers for me? I was just going to slap 2 bigshoota on top of each other.

Well, the great thing about Orks is that you can pretty much mash things together until they look shooty enough. Like this:



These were just my big shootas back in third ed, but it still shows that the theory works. Two or three shootas easily become a big shoota, just like two big shootas easily become something even shootier. Keep in mind though that they are Lootas and feel free to throw in some shooty bits from other armies.

Touche, just get a big gun from another army would work. Might have one in the Space Marines Dark Angels bit sprues i got off ebay that could work (when i get it that is lol).

My thing was the shoulder mount, which i guess wouldnt be that hard with some green stuff and a sheet of tough thin plastic.

Not sure how i would use them just yet so i got plenty of time to think bout makin more deffguns. Right now im using bikes and deffkoptas primarily.

What do you mean it only gave you 2 Deffguns? There are 4 Deffguns in the lootas box... as well as 4 burnas a rokkit launcher, big shoota and kustom mega blaster.

Meh yea i guess it did give me 4 on the terms of a deffgun just being an oversized bigshoota. Two of them look more along the lines of a burna or another kustom.

Not sure why it has burnas anyway since the rulebook doesnt let lootas have them. Not that im complaining, gonna chop those up for some shoota/skorcha kombi weapons.

The boxed set is a dual purpose loota/burna squad kit which is why it contains burnas. You get 4 deff guns, 4 burnas and a kustom blasta I think.

Correct.
The kit comes with options for Lootas, Burna boyz and a Mek with ammo grot.

If you dont want to run a Mek then its not too hard to bang together the Kustom blasta, the rokkit launcher and bigshoota which are also supplied and turn it into a 5th deffgun wielding Loota.

Really any weapons, smash em together, but make sure their is a suitable large gun, like a lascannon, as a base. In fact, one of the deffguns is literally a Lascannon with underslung Lasgun b

Yeah, rummage in your bits box for heavy weapons from any race, complete or not, and imagine how orks might 'repair' and 'improve' and combine them into something wildly shooty and dangerous. That's all a deff gun is anyway.

You don't have to go for the shoulder frame mounting - orks will mount or carry such weapons any way that suits them.

So long as the result looks real shooty and is obviously not a big shoota or rokkit etc, it's fine as a deff gun.
