When i am not doing medical i like to wonder what will the next SM pretty boy chapter, so far it seems to be the DA, i was hoping for IF, Iron Hands, Raven Guard or the salamanders. WHat do you think have the UM been removed from pretty boy status.

Wherever and whenever they appear they leave only destruction in their wake; they are the Lords of Death, Bringers of War. The Dark Angels.

Oh, you think the darkness is your ally, but you merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see the light until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but blinding!- Helen Keller

I would say that it is DA this edition.

I was hoping for Imperial Fists, but this edition it is DA. Wondering if any new things will appear codex and models wise.

Actually, I do hope GW delves further into the Iron Hands because they seem more 'iron-hard' and elite than some of the other chapters. Also, as they are an original Legion, I do hope to see more fleshing out of their units, fluff, and publicity.

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.

Maybe the Fire Hawks? Or the Rainbow Warriors?

^this darkly skinned chap has the right idea rainbow warriors. I like the iron hands, i thought it would be cool to combine the BA and Iron hands geneseed but i know that is not cannon but it sounds cool.

Maybe one day Astral Claws.

Wherever and whenever they appear they leave only destruction in their wake; they are the Lords of Death, Bringers of War. The Dark Angels.

Oh, maybe one of the star-fortress chapters (Doom Legion I think)

I'm also going to throw in my vote for the Astral Claws.

I think they think it means flagship chapter in this case.

It'd be great to see Iron Hands expanded a little more, however they only get a passing mention in the codex they've been shoved into (despite the fact that they are more divergent than the DA and perhaps BA) so I highly doubt it. Mentor Legion has a better chance. Common sense says because the DA are in the starter set they're going to see more attention for a little bit.

Uh. Except for the whole "they went rogue and turned into the Red Corsairs thing, thus no longer existing" thing.

It's the Ultramarines for the forseeable future.

So many books, a movie, a videogame

Easy to paint

According to fluff are numerous and unflawed

Mary-sue enough to appeal to a large audience of newcomers.

According to the urban dictionary.. .this

A male, although not necessarily young, who is aware of and enjoys his attractive qualities and grooms himself to maintain such while paying close attention to face, physical health/fitness and apparel.

Fairly literal

Honestly, I don't know either. I would assume all Space Marines take care of their physical health/fitness. Grooming and (sexually) attractive facial features would be something I'd stick with the old School Emperors Children more than the Ultramarines. Very meticulous attention paid to their apparel (e.g. Power Armour) would be a Blood Angels and Salamanders thing by the background I know.

It's DA on the 6th edition cover, they are most likely getting a new codex, DA is in the starter set....I would say it's the Dark Angels (and I agree with that. Their fluff is pretty interesting, it would be cool to look a bit more into it. Although, I don't want to Ultramarines it. Keep it purposefully mysterious and enigmatic GW!)

Fire Hawks ended up becoming the Legion of the Damned IIRC. Not sure if that is still canon, but i'm pretty sure it was once..

Rainbow Warriors were an in-joke at GW back when, and when the 'no sense of humor' crowd took over they were shuffled into the oubliette..

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

If the torch is ever passed from the Ultramarines, it will go to either the Dark Angels (as shown by this edition) or the Blood Ravens (as shown by the disproportionate amount of love they have gotten since THQ introduced them).

I think it was third ed that had Black Templars on the rulebook, so Blood Ravens would not be so far fetched.

The Ultramarines have been the flagship chapter for getting close to twenty years. It's not changing.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Ultramarines are and will likely always be the poster army for GW. I am very happy that being the poster Chapter doesn't mean they have to be in absolutely everything (we made it through two Dawn of War games and five expansion packs without seeing the Ultramarines, and the 6e starter box doesn't have them for once), however.

The Ultramarines were in Winter Assault. However their sole purpose was to either get destroyed by Orks/Chaos or not be as awesome as General Strunn
