Saw these earlier today, glad to see Ret is getting a starter box

It's plastic, so probably not too much.

Guess I can sell mine to some metal purist now though.

Wonder how long until we see the plastic Storm Guard and Winterguard Rifle Corps that use the same bodies but with different weapons.

Yes, sorry my bad... I forgot about that...

Though to be fair, I can see them include weapon attachments, but I don't think they'll include unit attachments...

The winterguard are $23 less than their metal counterparts and the stormblades save you $34, almost an entire heavy warjack. I already own metal stormblades, but those new WGI sculpts make khador very tempting.

Plastic stormguard were already previewed and are scheduled for a December release.

Well in that case, a quick check and... Yep. Same bodies, different arms.

I have to get another winter guard unit. I love the resculpts.

Those Winterguard resculpts are so much better than the current metal ones. And it's cheaper to pick up a unit now which is always a plus!

I just wish they would've resculpted the Zealots in plastic instead of just rebidding the metal ones. Those models are looking dated next to the new plastics.

I'm still awaiting resculpts for the Mechanithralls.

Just out of curiosity, can I ask why? I always see people clamoring for mechanithrall resculpts when the subject of new sculpts is brought up. To me, they look awesome - they're scrawny undead things with giant mechanika fists, which is exactly what they should be. If I ever played Cryx, I'd probably pick up 30 just because I like the look of the current ones so much.

Because there are like three poses for guys frequently taken in groups larger than ten. I prefer more variety in my shambling hordes than what they offer. I've also said if they announce a resculpt for them the first thing I'd do is buy a box of the current ones (i dont actually have any yet) for that reason. I also intend to make my own Brute Thralls out of stuff like troll light beasts and a gorax due to the single distinctive pose that guy comes in.

I have a full unit of winter guard sitting on my shelf, begging me to paint them every time I walk by. They've been there staring at me for a year or so now. I wish I had time :( Are they resculpts, or just the metal guys plastified?

I like how they're selling the full unit in one big plastic box. It always kinda bugged me how you had to get the starter pack of figs plus a bunch of blisters.

Necros - they're resculpts in plastic. Still a ton of dudes with beards, but much less lumpy looking now. I wish they'd done more than one rocketeer pose, though...

Aduro - sounds like a totally valid argument to me. I painted a unit of zealots for a buddy once, and it got a bit old after painting the same three poses three different times.

One of the things I like about Privateer Press. They release a full unit box, save stores space, AND drop the price!

But after someone on the PP forums mentioned it, I can no longer see the stormblades as NOT wearing fishnet stockings.

GW Rules Interpretation Syndrom. GWRIS. Causes people to second guess a rule in a book because that's what they would have had to do in a GW system.

I don't see it, just looks like quilted armor is supposed to to me.

These are all fantastic releases. As cool as they are - I get much more excited over a plastic resculpt (with weapon attachments thrown in!) than whatever newest collosal is shown.

More plastic units please, more resculpts of the really old stuff too!

...well, a day later and I'd've ordered a full WGDS for christmas. guess that'll be no holiday painting little khadoran men for me this year. still, they actually look a lot nicer - I just hope we're not stuck with the old UA still!

Old UA is fine looking I think.

you can see they're the 'old' type (current, now) WG models, though. By the coats, and the somewhat more cartoony shoulder pads, for example. also, the officer has a distinct 90s minis 'flat' look (arms to the sides etc.) which isn't all that dynamic.

add to that the fact that converting one of the newer, plastic WG models to be UA models would get you in trouble with PP's conversion policy and I really would like to see a replacement for those, too.

Gah...I was kinda hoping for a Ravyn resculpt, honestly. And are those plastic light jacks?

uh, look again, that IS a resculpt. Similar pose, but far more dynamic. And yes, those are plastic lights as well, which hopefully means a seperate light box soon

That's not a Ravyn resculpt, its a Kaelysa resculpt.

I'm from the future. The future of space

The retribution starter looks great. What a great sculpt for the caster. It'll probably suck me into expanding my ret force to a usable size. I have the discordia upgrade kit that I never got around to getting a heavy kit for.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.
