Our target clientele is drawn from a wide cross-section of the Southeast Michigan populace: men and women ages 13-65, spread across all socioeconomic and cultural demographics. Hobbyists come from all walks of life, from traditional ‘geek’ stereotypes, to paragons of the business community. By removing the negative stigma that so many hobby stores apply to their own patrons, and creating a welcoming service-oriented atmosphere, Flat Land Games will reach underserved areas of the hobby marketplace.

As a recreational hang-out destination, Flat Land does most of its business in the late afternoon through evening, with our heaviest traffic on the weekends. Given the highly-educated, often professional nature of our clientele, our business park location makes us highly convenient for our guests.

The ownership of Flat Land Games has been involved in the hobby industry for 30 years as a hobbyist, a manager of an independent gaming store, and as a manager of a corporate outlet gaming store. Additionally, the ownership has years of experience in the fine dining segment at the managerial level, bringing an expertise in hospitality to bear in developing this untapped market.

We offer all the merchandise for your Collectible Card Games (CCG), Roleplaying Games (RPG), Miniature War Games (MWG) and Board Games (BG) desires. Flat Land Games also provides premium event space to enjoy your hobbies in a warm friendly atmosphere, whether in our open social spaces, or our exclusive rental spaces for your private hobby group.

Business philosophy: Provide a secure and comfortable place our guests will consider to be their personal gaming den. By offering a fine gaming experience, our clientele will feel welcomed and valued, driving repeat business and generating word-of-mouth marketing.

I am in the process of opening a hobby store and gaming center in Wixom Mi in 2013. Plans are drawn up, in talks with a landlord and I am in process of securing investors for funding the venture.

To that end, I do have a non-binding presale offer. In order to assist with funding, as well as give help secure traditional funding I have a letter I will send to anyone who would like to help a new store open.

Send me an email to Majordomo@Flatlandgamestore.com and I will send you the presale letter. It outlines that for every dollar you wish to commit to spending at the store, you will get $1.25. This will be done as store credit or preorders once I have an opening date set, but having letters of interest from prospective customers would be greatly helpful.

Additionally, if anyone wants to commit significant funding or presales we can work out something more significant, including but not limited to being credited in the store with being a founding customer. We will have private gaming rooms which you can name and assisting in giving theme decoration to, having "your" chair at the paint bar, or other things that can be determined in a detailed conversation.

Regardless, these are NON-binding commitments. If I don't open or you need to adjust your commitment, that will not be a problem.

That sales pitch sounds great, I was already eager to see pictures by the time I got to the bottom and saw that you plan to open in 2013. Cafe-style refreshments are a brilliant idea, my local FLGS does the same and offers coffee, sandwiches, hot dogs, and so on. It's really cool being able to get an Americano in between games without leaving the premises.

Darefsky - About 1 hour from Lansing. If you want a great place to game that's closer to Lansing I would recommend AFK Games in Holt (Cedar Street off of 96 behind kroger).

Thanks. I of course think I've done my research, but as with any battle plan, its what you didn't consider that can kill you. Regardless I've got a decade of planning on this, and am working with a financial planner as well. This is going to be a critical success.
