Hi, I just recently got into wargaming but abut two weeks ago I went into my garage and found a open but unused copy of heroquest. The only thing that is missing is one die. I tried a quick game and its pretty fun, just that I'd share what's in my magical garage!

On a side note, is there any following for heroquest? I know people still like warhammer quest.

I spent a fair amount of my time at school playing it during lunch hours. It's certainly fun with a good group of people, although constant play did slowly grind down the enjoyment as it felt that there just wasn't enough room for expansion of skills, new weapons etc.

Having said that, the massive quests a teacher used to run for the group (between about 10-18 people at a time) were highlights for us all. Using the normal rules he'd craft long running games that would normally lead to hilarity, such as the time after rescuing 'a naked princess' (I kid you not) we all got distracted by the mention of hidden treasure and ran off to find it leading to wolves eating her. Oh for the good old days again XD

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

My wife and I have Heroquest and all the expansions. Sadly we have not played it in a while but it is a fun game

I'd love to try Warhammer Quest at some point.

Heroquest is great. I played tons of Heroquest adventures back when it came out.

Oddly enough, my gaming group broke out a copy earlier this month and we've done the first 3 or so missions.

Great Game. You can see the influence D&D had on it, and recognize it as the Grad Daddy of Heroscape as well.

I don't know if I'd say it has a "following", per se, but a lot of people are very fond of it. I suspect you could sell an intact copy for quite a bit on Board Game Geek or eBay.

I thought about selling it, but I would end up buying something similar with the money so I figured I'd keep it! It's the closest thing I've ever played to an rpg (at least what I think an rpg plays like) so I was hoping to get some friends involved.

It's definitely fun; I've known a number of grown-up gamers who use it as a filler or change of pace from regular RPGing.

For a mere $10,000 you could own all the glory that is HEROQUEST

It's obvious how awesome this guy feels Heroquest is.

I saw that while looking for add ons, that guy must be heroquests number 1 fan if he started that high!

I've not played in years but I did a lot when I was young and the figures paint up beautifully.

I got a near complete copy of heroquest from a charity shop for 9p a couple of years ago. I gave them a quid for it and had to insist they kept the change because they kept asking if I wanted to pay so much more than the asking price for it. It was some special version with a load of empire figures in it and instructions for a multi-map campaign.

Same shop I bagged about 20 old white dwarfs, proper old with issues in the #120s, for a pound. They wanted to give them away so again challenged my attempt to pay for them.

Strange place.

I still have a lot of the miscellanea laying around, but I am missing some key parts. Loads of fun when I was a kid - my dad used to run games for me and my brother. Waaay back, before I knew about role playing or table top.

Combine it with Advanced HeroQuest components to play by the "Allied HeroQuest" rules. Great fun! It feels like Descent, but looks like the vintage HeroQuest by MB.

I recently obtained a copy from Ebay, when it turned up it had one or two figs missing but came with Complete Kellars Keep and Return of the Witch King Expansions that werent mentioned on the auction.

I haven't played it a great deal but the odd game here or there is a lot of fun.

Hi,

Just saw your HeroQuest topic while browsing through the site...

As a big fan of the original boardgame I built a mobile adaptation of the game for iOS and Android. Game is almost ready, you can check out the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJx45GGhc1Q

Also to get some help for publishing the game I started a crowdfunding campaign on the Asian Kickstarter (https://www.crowdonomic.com/project/452-from-beta-to-the-store-1).

There is a link to the android demo at the bottom of the page.

I'd appreciate if you could help me spread the word and gather support for this game to come to the stores

Cheers and thanks a lot!

Hey Thanks! There is a link to the android beta on the campaign website. Or here is the link below to save you time searching:
http://software.radioactive.sg/DungeonQuests/demo.apk

Also, i'm developing the game using a PC and I know the code could run on both PC and Mac. I'm not sure I could package it for PC/Mac though because the whole UI design is for mobile (plus cheating would be way too easy by modifying the config files of the game

Don't forget to share! Thanks!

Do you have a source on that? I would love for an arcade game through the xbox.
