I had an idea a couple days ago when I opened up a drawer and found an old Imperial Guard army with a mix of catachans and cadians, and that got me thinking. I might want to run chaos with basically nothing but cultists. I would run them as either mark of nurgle or slaanesh and was wondering what you guys could think of for doing that. I would have hordes of chaos with 1 chaos space marine behind it all, a dark apostle.

Doesn't sound very competitive but might be a blast to play in a fun match.

Okay... Thank you for sharing. This would probably be better off in the 40K Disscussions forum, unless there was a modeling-specific question I missed.

And some, I assume, are good people."

Greenstuff some boils on them, slice their faces up a bit, replace some of their arms with chaos possessed marine arms.

And I think you would be well off.

No, I'm wondering what I should do to make them more slaanesh looking

An idea i had for slaanesh cultists was dark eldar wyches. They are more slim and gracefull looking than the bulkier guardsmen. But i don't know how good they are mix and match with other kits, especially the bulky catachans.

But it may be an idea worth trying.

In the Crimson Chalice (I think, at least one of the Soul Drinkers novels) the Slaanesh cultists wear full rough leather body suits (with tight fitting gas masks-think the Forgeworld models). Adding bits of cloth like waste sashes, scarves, etc, and painting them in richer colours could also give off a Slaanesh fee too. Bare chested soldiers with baggy trousers also might be an idea (in fact any toned down version of some historic harem or fetish party would work).

Hey, hope I'm not necromancing this thread?
I'm really interested in converting Slaanesh cultists aswell. I'm starting with the hobby, and kit bashing wyches with daemonettes doesn't seem too hard to start off with. (I was exactly thinking about this already)
However, does anyone have an idea how to make autopistols/guns/shotgun/flamer? Or post a link to some tutorials if they exist?
How can you make them more chaos also?

To OP: Expose some more skin, for example WHFB WoC marauder torsos are good for this.

Soulcow: Make? Plasticard and tubes. I'd recommend buying from a third party bits manufacturer though. Here's a couple of the better ones: Anvil Industry Maxmini
