Hello friends!
I've finally come up with some what of a paint scheme for my Knights and I'm slowly piecing them together. My goal is 1750 points worth of models, but I will be expanding from there because there are a few models that I really like that my list doesn't include.
Here's a break down of what I need to paint. Units with * next to the name are units I need to purchase.
Coteaz
Ordo inq
10 Strike Knights
10 Terminators
20 henchmen
2 Dreadknights
I will also be painting these for extras and list changes
Grand Master
PsyRifle Dread
10 Strike Knights
*StormRaven
*LandRaider of some sort
Let's take a look shall we?
I know this isn't a fluffy scheme, but I'm sure one of the 8 Brotherhoods could have a different color on their armor!
Test Model (won;t be used in the army)
Back side of the test model
10 Strike Knights (arms, heads, packs are all tac'd to the model)
Terminators + Grand Master (arms, heads, weapons are all tac'd to the model)
Primer and Base coat complete
I'm about to do the aggressive highlight on the terminators shortly, stay tuned!
Hope you guys enjoy! Also I'm not sure how massive these photos are coming out on this forum.

Lighting complete on all terminators. Here's a sample.
I need some desperate help deciding the contrast colors for:
Eyes
Weapons
Force weapons
Heraldry shields
Shoulder pad rims
I was thinking grey shoulder pad rims, Vallejo old gold for all the armor scripting, possibly grey guns as well, but not sure yet.
Help me out guys!

Yellow is your complimentary colour - so Gold is a perfect choice.
You could go Green for the power weapons for a hgih contrast look.

What do you think about the weapons, helmet and heraldry for colors?
I like the green idea, ill do the nemesis weapons and the eyes green.

Go easy! I'm a scale modeller at heart so all these really small details are pretty tough. I'm not to sharp with the brush, I'm also going to invest in some Kolinsky brushes hopefully this week before I'm off work again to paint.
group shot.. testing the force weapons now.
can't believe how many hours invested into these.. coming up with a paint scheme is difficult.

I like the alternate color scheme and it looks like you have a nice touch with the airbrush. YOur fine detail looks pretty good for a start, so keep at it.
One small thing: Mold lines: All that smooth color transition is going to be marred by the mold lines if you don't file or scrape them off. Since you are pushing yourself to do the best job you can I'd suggest taking that extra time to get rid of the obvious mold lines, particularly on high visability areas like arms and legs.
Keep it coming!

Thanks for the reply guys!
Yeah someone before called me out on the mold lines and it was already too late. It's only really visible on 2 models. I won't let it happen with my strike squad.
I built up some of my dreadnoughts last night. Ill post some pics of them. I got forgeplanet auto cannon arms which I'm not sure about. They are quite large.
For the force weapons I think I'm going to do blue. Here's a pic of what they look like half done. The halberds are a real treat to tape off :(
They look decent. Still figuring it out. Only half of the blades are done. What do you guys think? I kind of like the blue which looks pretty good when I put it on a model, looked as if they are holding some seriously powerful weapons. Automatically Appended Next Post: The dread with the forgeplanet autocannon arms
I kind of like them. The regular GW autocannons are skinny and sparse looking. These look like serious firepower.
Still need to out seals and maybe some books from the terminator sprues

Hey guys.
I'm looking to maybe buy some bases or get one of those gw basing kits. Just looking for rubble / debris base. Any suggestions? Anyone tried one of their kits?

Hey, first off - thanks for sticking with me here's a scatter brain update.
Terminators all done
More photos of them in the showcase forum.
I ordered some bases from fenrisgames as I wanted the round edges that PP models have but couldn't find the correct size for warhammer, luckily they had 25/40/120mm bases. I ordered 40x25mm, 16x40mm and 2 big dread bases, in the "dungeon floor" pattern. All my models will be pulled off their base and put on the new ones when they arrive.
Here's my dreadknight so far. Gun has a base coat, and the sword needs cleaning up and a few panels, oil wash on the driver, and purity seals need to be complete but almost there. Painting larger scale in this scheme is harder than I thought. I think it turned out ok so far.
I've also got a forge world order in today! I decided to do my henchmen as hostile environment cadians. I got 6 plasma hostiles and 20 hostile torsos and heads. I ordered 6 mk2 plasma cannons from bitz sites around the world. I think I got the only 6. I have no idea their size compared to a guardsman, so ill probably have to play with making them fit. Also ill be modifying grandmarshal helbrecht as an ordo inq.
Well that's a large update...

Looking good, that dreadknight is coming along nice and really shows off the alternate color scheme well. The model air bottles in the background remind me I need to order some, thinng the regular gw and pp paints is starting to wear on my patience ... so many trips to clean the brush to prevent clogging.
I think the hostile Env. guards will look pretty cool as henchmen as well.

Thanks Meph. I've had some pretty rough experiences with regular vallejo model color as well. Some pretty bad clogs and a bent needle - dont get me started the air still needs some thinning for long duration spraying.
