To the community, because my searches are fruitless.

Does anyone know where I might find an aircraft that would fit into a near-future cyberpunk setting and would fit with a 28mm range? My idea is something along the lines of the aircraft from Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor, etc...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

If you don't mind waiting a while to pick one up, Antenocitis Workshop will have one coming out next year.

Alternatively they have the Firefly

Puppetswar is also making one but it's not finished

Their facebook page:

(scroll down for the vtol)

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

Thanks for the help guys.

The ship from Antecitis Workshop should work, and I had forgotten about that VTOL from Puppetswar. Does anyone know of any miniature company that does make helicopters? (I'm aware of the one from AN, was just curious if there was anything else)

1/48 scale model kits will do nicely for 28mm scale.

The Italeri kit of the Russian Kamov Ka-50 would make a nice gunship. It is rather unfamiliar due to only a small number ever being produced.

It has a double rotor system, so you can take the rotor off and make it look like an anti-grav vehicle instead. Though it looks pretty cool with double-rotor, IMO!

Add some different weapons and there you go!

That's awesome! And thanks for the info on scale, I was never sure what to look at in that regard.

1/48 for aircraft models, and 1/35 for tanks.

1/48 tanks look a bit small, though it is a matter of taste.

It should be noted that 28mm equates to approximate 1/56 scale. If using 1/35 tanks for 28mm games like 40k, be careful, they get big quick. Heres a pic from my gallery, left is a Tiger I heavy tank, right is a Stug III tank destroyer based of the Panzer medium tank chassis. Both models are in 1/35 scale with a Space marine and IG Trooper for scale.

Whats my game?

I agree. I like my 40K tanks big. It is partly because GW infantry models are about 1/35th scale in most of their dimensions except the length of body and legs, also their thick bases add more height.

Aircraft are simply too large to make 1/32 scale models viable on the tabletop. For example, the Ka-50 is 16 metres long, so a 1/48 scale model is 33 centimetres which is 12 inches, similar to a large vehicle in 40K. If the model were made in 1/32 (the other common large scale for aircraft kits) it would be nearly 20 inches long.

The other important factor is the selection of kits. Due to some historical reasons, there are many 1/35th scale vehicles, and 1/48th scale aircraft. The selection of 1/48th vehicles is still relatively limited, though growing every year.

Have you seen the line of minis for dust tactics at fantasy flight games?

They've just released some odd alternative WWII setting helecopters and have a jet/airplane thing planned.

I play...

Sigh.

Who am I kidding? I only paint these days...

+1 Maschinen Krieger -

I've got models / pics up of their stuff in my office here at work. Awesome stuff, I just have a weird liking for these egg-shaped guys and even used some SAFS in a Tau army years and years ago (crisis suits)
