Hey all,

Doing a heldrake conversion from a different model and I want to get it just right. Can anybody give me some of the following specs? I don't want to appear modeling for advantage so I want to be as close to (or larger) as possible.

Approx length from nose to tail:
Wingspan:
Height (from lowest part of model to highest not counting the flying stand):
Height of the flying post for correct elevation:

Thank you again. For those interested, the plan is to use a zombie dragon with a chaos marine riding. The marine will have a magnetized heavy flamer/autocannon for WYSIWYG. The dragon will be appropriately armored and mechanized. I'm also considering a couple of poses. So far the candidates are: diving, normal but tearing apart armor pieces, reeling back with open wings, hard bank to one side, or perched on something tall. I'm making two so please give input for more than one.

85 looks and not one has had the usual combination of: an assembled heldrake, a tape measure, and generosity?

bumping. Please help?

I made this exact same thread about two weeks ago and nothing. Sucks, but if you made a Grey knight thread you would have mad replies. Good luck.

When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

A Helldrake use the same size of base that a Trygon or Forgefiend uses. If you use that size of base then it will be close to what you need. Also look at pictures of Helldrakes and compare what you see to the base you have and that may help you out in discovering it's size.

A google search for Helldrake WIPs will be handy for this.

Ok, so while nobody was able to directly Alleton kinda helped with the battlefoam image. The BattleFoam tray builder can be manipulated to kinda give a person approximate dimensions. So after playing around for 20 min, I think I'm close. A confirmation would still be nice though. Deathshead420, hope this helps you too.

Approx length from nose to tail: Between 6.5'' and 7.5''
Wingspan:Between 10.5'' and 11.25''
Height (from lowest part of model to highest not counting the flying stand): Probably less than 3''
Height of the flying post for correct elevation: Still no clue, I'm going with 6''

I dont really think it matters, it cant gain cover from things on the ground. It is big and high up in the air. I just finished converting mine out of a storm talon.

I finished and painted my conversion of Heldrake. No dragon head (almost the same as for high elves dragon form Warhammer Battle) but instead a front of Helbrute as imo its human head merged into armour fits perfectly into Heldrake description form Codex (pilot merged with daemon machine due to Warp powers).
Night Lords colour because most of my opponents are afraid of this unit

Hey, great job. I loved that simple yet powefull conversion... Great way to solve the problem, great looking miniature...

And your painting is, awesome o.O

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...

Just found this topic... A bit old, but it's good to know I'm not the only one trying to avoid animals in CSM army

I used wing span 10.5'' for following scrap-builds:http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/502692.page

I guess they are really just inspired by the heldrake idea. You will not find any head or talons simply because I used "mechanical flyer" approach.
