as I sit here and take a break from cleaning mold lines, I got to wondering just how slow I am at it it takes me 2-3 hours to take a single space marine from spru to fully cleaned and ready for assembly. granted, I'm a bit OCD about mold lines, but yeah... slllooowwwww :p so, how about the rest of dakka? how long does it take you to prep a typical troop model?

Depends on the system. GW marines maybe 35 min. A WM/H mini takes an hour plus.

If I'm being very thorough (for competition work etc) then I'm with you at a couple of hours. For most purposes though, around 30 mins per marine.

It depends on how bad the mould lines are. If its pretty clean to begin with it only takes 10 mins or so to check the sprue attachment points. If the sprues are a mess it will take longer, but I don't think I've ever spent 2-3 hours just cleaning parts for infantry models.

Assembly tends to take longer as I prefer to try and make realistic, interesting and varied poses.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
