Catalyst Game Labs is teaming up with Hyper Hippo Productions for Leviathans Online.

Unlike other conversion where you get real time game play with the only thing in common being the background, story and characters, it appears that Hyper Hippo is planning to transport this giant flying battleship game directly onto the computers with PC, Mac and ipad. You get turn by turn movement like Megamek for Battletech except with 3D graphic and sound. And the cost is much cheaper.

The future development of Leviathans (the actual physical game) no doubt will also depend on this project.

Weird, 300k was also the target number for FASA's relaunch of the 1879 game as they wanted to mesh the miniatures with video games and mobile apps.

(the Leviathan guys are also split off from the old FASA family)

Considering the 1879 Kickstarter was cancelled I'm curious why they want to push for that same element with Leviathans rather than just getting the tabletop game out there. They have the models done and were supposed to have them at Gen Con a full year ago but were massively delayed when their shipment from China hit a snag.

Also saw it at Adepticon last year but again wasn't available, which kinda hurts interests. There's some appeal IMO but I think 300k is going to be a huge goal to hit.

IIRC it was available at GenCon this year. My LGS has a few copies sitting on the shelf, along with the French fleet box.

I have the box game. They messed up printing the hex grid on the maps (they don't align correctly. I've been waiting since the game came out for them to address this (they promised they were working on it). I understand they were going to switch who they used for printing for the next print run.

It's out. Has been for ages.

It seems like a missed opportunity to sell more of the tabletop game though. The miniatures only seem to appear in the very high end bids, rather than having a mid tier one that gives you the core game and the computer game in a bundle.

The board/minis game itself is pretty expensive, and heavy to ship. The logistics of that may be more than a software developer wanted to take on.
