Subject: Flat Out AFTER deepstrike?

Can vehicles that deep strike (speeders, BA Land Raiders (lol!) etc.) make their flat out moves in the shooting phase since the deep strike occurs in the movement phase?
I imagine the answer is in the deep strike section but I just cannot wait until the weekend to have my rule book in front of me!
Thanks

That is really interesting...
Thinking about my speeders then - Speeders can deep strike then move an additional 18 inches because it is a fast skimmer? Do I have that correct?

Yes, but why would you deep strike your paper vehicles when they can just arrive via reserves or hide?

It is often necessary to give them a chance to do anything at all against the opponents I often play. I am thinking this would be helpful when I already nominated a speeder to DS but I am denied any juicey targets. Now I will be able to DS in a safe area and turbo boost behind cover (to hide).

Daemon players can do this with screamers as well. Not to mention eldar and their jetbikes. It's a nice ability to pretty much safe deepstrike then hit melee range in the same turn

I have deep struck storm ravens out of line of sight. At the end of my movement, my opponent fires his interceptors (and he has no line of sight). Then in my shooting phase, I safely flat out to close in for my next turn of unloading the marines and dreadnought.
And before you wonder how I hide a Storm Raven, it isn't that hard. I drop a nice tall piece of terrain near the Quad-gun (usually down the flank and not in front). This gives me a ~12" wide wedge half the length of the table that is out of Quadguns Line of Sight.

Yet. It is implied they will be able to at some point in this edition. Of course, if you run a corsair army, the corsair prince enables 3 units to deep strike.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

What?!
Holy crap I've been playing this wrong
I thought that in lieu of a shooting phase, they moved extra in the movement phase. Totally made a mistake and wasn't aware that the flat-out/turbo-boost move happened in the shooting phase just like a run. So a fast skimmer can... what now? It can move a cruising speed of 12'' in the movement phase then another flat-out 18'' during the shooting phase (assuming it was on the board at the start of it's movement phase)? Ugh. Need to use more vehicles and re-read those rules again with a highlighter or something.
I suppose this means my opponent's landraiders can move an additional 6'' for flat-out or something in the shooting phase too then, huh? Or is this just a skimmer/fast vehicle thing?

Every vehicle can now move flat out; the distance is the only difference
