Hey dakka, recently been looking into getting some tohaa, mainly for the ectros and sakiel models but decided to turn it into a full army

What about you does anyone here have tohaa or wan to start, post your speculations here.

Does the fact that tohaa has only 4 boxes put you off?

I only have the Ambassador painted to resemble an Asari from Mass Effect. I heard that one of the Paradiso missions uses her model and YAMS needs a civvie model anyway. The rest of the models have not really captured my attention aesthetically, so I'm not gonna be starting this faction. At least not judging by the models we got so far.

And yes, 4 boxes is too little for me to consider playing such an army.

I'm waiting to see more before making a final decision, and I especially want to see their T.A.G. but... I've got enough Infinity models as it is!

We are going to be seeing a lot of releases for the Tohaa for the time being because they need to be fleshed out. I'm in the same camp as Alpharius for the time being though. I want to see more before deciding to jump in for the Tohaa.

It is worth noting that there is apparently an issue with the Tohaa starter box being sold out at most distributors.

I would like to add that one of the most wanted units, the Makaul Warband Box, is purported to be a December release for the Tohaa.

No, I won't be starting Tohaa.

I've got QK to start next year anyway - and nothing about the tohaa appeals to me (only starting QK because I only need to get 4 model packs/blisters to add to what I've already got in order to make it a "legal" force.

We have a guy in my club starting them, though - so each faction is/will be represented in some way (Nomad, Ariadna, PanO, combine, etc).

About the only model in that range I don't like so far is the artichoke-head Beyonce. Like the Gao-rael, and most of the starter box pieces.

I actually picked up the box when it came out ... and I'm pretty sure I want to get rid of it and pick up Nomads when the Riot Grrls box hits So while my answer is technically 'yes' right now it'll like change soon

Not really interested in starting up a new faction and the Tohaa in particular don't really do it for me. They look nice and all but I'm not that interested.

I already have all of the models except the diplomatic delegate and I'm ordering her next. I like the back story and the look of the models. I have yet to assemble or play with them yet but I think that they will be fun to paint and game with. They are alien looking but not too alien like the CA which I just don't like at all. I'm really anticipating the Makaul and the Gorgos units especially. If you are looking to get rid of your box Salvage, shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to take them off your hands for a fair price.

I like them, but they are probably 3rd or 4th behind the other massive pile of stuff I have yet to paint or yet to buy!

Specifically I like the whole 'bio-tech' thing they have going with the symbiote armour - if I did get some, it might be interesting to go for a 'guyver' style route of slightly creepy bio-armour and colouring. Definitely looking forward to what other things they come up with though, especially if they eventually create some sectorials!

I voted "Maybe" but that's probably wishful thinking. I can be a bit of a faction whore. I'm sure they are on the purchase list and it's probably just a matter of time.

I like the models, I like the fluff and the bio-symbiote armor provides a different feel to the force so they are very appealing to me. Only having a box and 3 blisters makes it easy to hold off on the purchase though. Once they release a substantial amount of minis though the Tohaa will draw me in.

I´ll wait for the other units to be released.

Results are pretty balanced between yes, no and maybes at the moment. I voted no as i already have 4 armies that don't get enough use as it is so i don't need to add another one! Although i know at least a couple of people that have picked up Tohaa starters so hopefully i'll see them on the othe other side of the table before long.

Tbh I like the idea of starting an army with such a small selection to start with cause I like the thought of keeping pace with all the new releases as the come out. I never play with unpainted stuff so it would stop me buying loads and then having a back log of stuff to paint! (looking at you, yu jing, nomads and haqqi! )

But the models just dont do it for me! :(

I heard from the staff at my local FLGS that 1 starer of Tohaa has been sold at their shop chain. Granted, they're not the only store selling Infinity, but the major retailer for that line in Warsaw and the only host of a local Infinity league.

The main thing that's preventing me from diving in head first on assembly and paint on my Tohaa is that I can't decide what colors scheme to paint them in. The studio army looks amazing as usual but I just don't see myself painting my army in the same colors. I want to use a soft ivory color for the symbiotic armor parts but I can't decide on colors for the rest of them. Would it be too off topic to ask for color suggestions here, or should I start my own new topic? I don't want to derail this thread but I really could use some help.

I don't have the Haqq starter currently but when you decide you are ready to move those Tohaa definitely pm me and we will certainly work something out.

I've recently picked up the starter, Hatail and Gao Rael. Must say I'm more impressed with the Clipsos and Electros then I thought I would be. The dynamisim of their poses look fantastic from the side.

With the upcoming Makaul (to see at Studio Giraldez) I think I´m getting more and more assimilated by the Tohaa. I don´t really like the Kamael (first of all the girl) but the other minis are awesome...I...must...resist....

It's a maybe in the future, but currently thinking new Aleph or Nomad forces.
