No problem Grim, I still have plenty of sheets to work with, I might actually make a bunch of buildings and ruins, one never knows!

Wow cam that's really sharp. I think I was gonna go with a slightly rougher dungeon stone but you've done an outstanding work with those bricks. Quite fancy.

Speaking of making many tiny bricks, I once hand did over 26,000 bricks on a project by engraving them into foamcore like that. Never. Again. I definitely recommend making a tool for it, so you can do multiple at a time, or better, just not doing it. It does look cool, but isn't worth it. It's really not worth it.

Ahh yeah. Im kind of expecting to end up dropping so I'm not as excited. Plus I've got more little things eating up idle phone time at the moment. So far it looks ok, but I feel like I could replicate of the models with a box of GCPS marines from warpath (whenever they get released). Or most of them anyway. So now the only real draw is questionable card tiles and rules I may or may not use. Plus I have imperial assault. A bit different but if you plop stormtroopers on the table certain people are gonna have interest by default.

Yeah I dropped out so someone else could have the early bird. I can't justify the purchase at the moment.

Still trying to get around to painting soon. Maybe if Blainetober is still a thing. Considering doing up the last of the dungeon saga orcs sometime too.

Been into D&D lately though getting a local group is unlikely. Maybe roll20.

May have gotten a good pattern to cast walls from, but I have to finish it. No time with these kids.

The old desktop blew up last night. Probably will be doing shorter posts and replies on here till that's sorted out. Hopefully the power supply snap crackle and popped on its own without killing any other systems, lot of photos on the HDD.

Hobby lobby had clearance on some stuff today. Got some more plaster cloth. I'm sure you can get it cheaper somehow but this is cheap enough for now. Two woodland scenics molds also, for rock faces and such, not so bad for four bucks each. May try to leverage them into cave walls or maybe just sticking out of hillsides.

Got a picture frame and replaced glass with fun foam. Cheap $4 rolling pad with minor noise cancellation.

Looking at my dungeon saga tiles maybe I should just do some outside walls for photos and immersion...or maybe walls to fit the tiles? Tough call.

Good supply drop, like the dice box idea. Having a go at casting! Cool.

Yeah I'll sort the pc out at some point. I don't see any burns or scorches anywhere so I think the PS just died on its own. It had mostly become a backup / security blanket, so used to having a desktop I'm more comfortable doing stuff on it than my tabtop.

Cam, I'll give it a shot. We'll see how it goes. The molds I bought will work fine I've done that before, but using the casting kit will be new so we'll see.

I'm anxious to see what you do with those molds. I've been looking at them for years but never had the stones to take the plunge.

They work pretty well but I'll have to make some scenery to incorporate them. The flat wall bit is kinda silly on its own.

Got some dungeon saga minis cleaned and primed. Starting to bank some primed figures for winter. I still have most of my surplus figures from last year but I may as well bank a few more in case I get productive.

I hate it when I find the time and desire to paint, but have nothing I want to paint base coated. Having a supply on hand of primed models would prevent that from happening.

Yeah. I've changed my mindset about having a legion of primed figs. Used to be depressingly oppressive, knowing I had all that work to do. Now it's nice to have a wide variety from which to choose.

Really really on the fence about the batman starter guys, wife needs something to get me for Xmas anyway but is that the card I want to play? Similar potentials include infinity red veil, a couple of choice boxes, start collecting sets, etc.

I mean the game seems cool and 14 minis for ~$80 that usually cost 15-20 each, two card buildings, the book, and all the other Gubbins...is a great deal. Just wondering if there's anything else I would be more interested in. Only got a day or three to decide too.

Dunno.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I guess the main issue is that I didn't even see the suicide squad movie and some of the figs are hit/miss. Quality seems high though And there are more hits than misses. Hmmm.

If it was me, I'd go with blood rage or x-com, but batman would be pretty high on my list too.

Huh yeah options. Didn't know xcom had minis. I've seen bits of blood rage but only bits.

Blood rage has some of my favorite fantasy minis. Great style, awesome details and they're on the "realistic" end of the spectrum. I don't know anything about the game itself, but the figures are awesome

I love the xcom games, but again I don't know much about the board game itself. Cool minis though, and brother vinni's sells some cool xcom figures as well.

I've heard mixed things on the X-Com game, mostly due to the nature of the app.

If you want an X-Com experience, there's always Galaxy Defenders. The figures are a bit overtly cartoony and on the simplistic side (especially the heroes) but the aliens are serviceable and the gameplay is really good, the odds are overwhelming, and with good planning and tactics is pretty beatable.

Heard a lot of good things about Privateer's Level 7: Omega Protocol if you want a X-Com styled one vs many dungeon crawler.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Hmm food for thought. I stopped waffling and the wife has ordered the suicide squad batman starter for me, woowoo.

Wanted to take another stab at mobile painting station. This is the work in progress though it's functionally complete. I may include some stops so the lid stays partly upright so it takes less space on a table or my lap. Will probably add something to hold paint brushes. Will want to find a bright portable light too but I may just be able to camo out by windows and lamps.

Also the boxes I made it out of were chosen because clearance prices. They're reasonably sturdy but exact/consistent dimensions between boxen was not something they were designed for so it sits a little lopsided. Not a big deal though.

Adam -- Yep 1" blue foam. I used it for my original paint tray but this is a lot smaller and closes to ward off the cat. I wanted it to have a clasp but the painting box frame things were not designed to exacting specifications and they don't fit well on the non hinge side. I'll come up with something, but I think just having a lid is sufficient largely.

Josh -- Bah, had an idea in my head and lucked out on a clearance find. Whole thing took twelve screws and a little knife work to make the foam fit. Already had the circular 1" inner diameter copper fitting to cut the paint slots with from previous projects. Had the sponge I'm using for a makeshift wet pallet left over from another one too.
I'm hoping I can keep a couple of minis loaded in this thing and it on a shelf out of the way but near where I mind the children so I can try to come closer to matching your production. I can't get up earlier than the kids but every so often they play on their own enough I could sneak in a few minutes at a time.
